We are a family of 3 , stayed in this hotel from 24 to 28 December 2012 .
The hotel is vey nice and new , rooms are spacious and clean , swimmimg pools beautiful and very big , beach fantastic, but......
we will never come back again , at our arrival the receptions were full of guest and only two receptionists , big noise and mess as open market in full opeative hrs......all the bagages were let lying around without any orders and almost no actions from the hotel stuff...
We tried to go to the main restaurant called Red Star for but when we asked if was possible order on the menu instead take buffet , they said no only after several request they say yes but need to wait long time , at that point we checked inside the restaurant and there was an incredible mess , a lot of childrens running and big noise so for that day we gave up and we went to the lounge to take a simple burger ....
the second day we tried the Fish Market restaurant , food was nothing special and super expensive .
The 3rd day we tried again Red Star restaurant as less confusion , we take a buffet which was quite normal food and incuding only soft drink , usually with this price ( more than 330 rmb for person ) in other 5star hotel the beer and some time sparkly wine are included .....
The last day we went again to Red Star and this time we order the menu , 2garlic ,oil and chili pasta and one cesar salad , after 45 minutes and several complains our pasta arrived but was not what we ordered , we got tomato sauce pasta incredibly salty .
So we complain and after another 20 minutes we got our garlic oil and chili pasta .
I was very surprise to receive such treatment in a 5Start hotel like this....
So for this reason and for the confusion , mess , disorder and the noise done by the childrens we decided do not come back in this hotel

My wife and I spent a long weekend at this property and fully agree with many of the earlier, positive comments. Perhaps slightly less than paradise but then I'm not sure you'll ever find that!! Certainly coming from a very cold Beijing it was pretty close. We arranged a limo transfer from the airport which given delays caused by faulty baggage system was worth the extra cost! Despite check-in being pretty busy the staff offered us drinks and a seat while waiting. As it happened the seat wasn't needed as we were promptly attended to. We had booked an ocean view corner studio suite which, although a bit smaller than what I envisaged was well appointed and, for all the time we spent there, pretty good. Our particular room was above the terrace lounge which I imagine could be pretty noisy if your visit happened to coincide with one by a large, conference or similar group but during our stay was no issue. Despite around 850 guests staying at the resort most of the time we felt we had the whole place to ourselves. Only times we really saw a lot of others was at breakfast and dinner. Even at the latter dining in the Star Anise (booking needed) or Star Fish Market was relaxed and quiet. For lunch, or drinks the Star Fish Bar was great. Again we had the place largely to ourselves. Staff throughout were friendly and attentive. Although some weren't 100% fluent in English most tried and we never had a problem being understood. As others have said if you're looking for somewhere with plenty of life and things to do outside of the resort this isn't the place for you. If, like us, you're looking a a place to chill and relax, perhaps escape the winter's cold, you can't go too wrong by trying here. We certainly hope to return again!

Arriving at this new resort with its grand foyer and roof lines made us go "wow" as it's even better than the pictures on line. We had a very friendly welcome (with a flower ley too). A tour of the resort reminded us of the fabulous Fijian and Hawaiian beach resorts but better, with one enormous pool and garden.
The food and service was way better than we experienced in some nice hotels on mainland China. The staff remembered our family and always made genuine happy hellos. There was always quiet efficient service. Our favourite place for a drink or family lunch was the relaxed carribean style Star Fish Bar near the pool. There were many breakfast options, all nicely prsesented and prepared. Our fine dining dinners were brilliant and the staff / chefs were friendly and we learnt more here to appreciate Chinese food than anywhere else.
Our kids had a fabulous time on the water slides, kids water park, enjoyed the games with staff at the beach, ten pin bowling and were well considered at meal time. I played golf nearby at the spectacular Mystic Springs (many more courses in the area) and my wife enjoyed the quality spa. Given it is only 1 hour flight from Hong Kong to Sanya, this is a great family holiday resort, which I highly recommend. We'll be back to visit.

I stayed at this resort in June 2012 with my family and must say it was a really great experience.
Ren Sanya is a luxury and modern hotel with beautiful and clean beach , impressive lobby and spacious rooms. The pool is wonderful, very big, with hot Jacuzzi and well appointed children's area with waterslides. The food was great, breakfast buffet with excellent choice of Western and Asian cuisines,a lot of fruits and yummy bakeries. Food in other hotel's restaurants was fresh and delicious.
Staff, from beach attendants to GM Sean, was very friendly and did their best to make guests feel comfy, especially Russian Guest Service Manager lrina Litvinenko, who was a big aide for non-chinese visitors.
This hotel is about 40 minutes from airport by taxi, and a little bit far from Sanya's activities, but hotel provides shuttle bus service if you want to try some real China.

Recommend this place for couples with children for a nice and relaxing family vacation.

I went here on my own for a quiet weekend, and that's exactly what I got, as it was out of season. However, as some other reviewers have mentioned, the vast majority of other guests are from mainland China, and it's never much of a pleasure to be near a big group of mainland Chinese tourists. Shouting and spitting through meals, and then collecting as much food/ sugar sachets/ anything not pinned down from every buffet to take away with them as possible was one thing, but when I was quietly lying on a sunbed reading a magazine and was approached by a couple of older men who assumed a girl on her own must be firstly Russian (they spoke to me in Russian) and secondly for sale, it took away from the experience a little.

The hotel itself was lovely, huge and spacious with a beautiful reception area, I had a great room with a very large balcony and freestanding bathtub. Staff at the restaurant were very helpful and, were it not for the other guests i would have had a perfect weekend. However, the hotel can not be held responsible for the behaviour of the other guests, and so I would rate them as very good and recommend it. Perhaps next time i wouldn't travel alone though.

Also, get a hotel pick up as it should be safer than another taxi (they tend to drive very fast)

Room Tip: Balcony room overlooking the pool area and sea
