Reviewed 5 January 2013

We went at the start of Jan 2013 for 4 days. The weather was great (~27DegC).
Positives:
Chinese check in staff spoke some English, and even some Russian (I think).
This 5* in China is about 4* in places such as Thailand, Bali, Philippines etc., but it was clean if a little dated looking.
Pool is nice (but shallow) & the beach & sea are acceptably clean, the Sea is close to the Hotel & Pool.
Breakfast was good – large choice & not crazy busy.
All in all a great place for between 3 ~ 7 days I think, but any longer would start to drag.
Negatives:
Lots of door banging & Children shouting in Corridors from about 08:00
The choices of food & night-time entertainment in this resort are very few.
Other info:
The only nationalities were Russian & Chinese in this Hotel & throughout this part of Sanya, but that’s no problem as everyone seemed nice enough.
We had some initial issues with Breakfast which had been promised when we’d confirmed our booking on the phone, but the desk staff said we had to pay for @ 1300rmb each, per day. We let them know our displeasure & told them no we would not pay, especially as we’d been told previously it was free for us. This made us quite angry BUT as soon as we got to our room the phone rang & they said we could have breakfast for free even though whoever told us this when we’d phoned to confirm the booking had been wrong. So we were then happy again!
The Security Guard at the Beach was funny with his methods for removing people on the INTIME Private Beach section – he was very professional, forceful & took his job seriously, so there were plenty of Loungers available as non-Hotel guests were hunted down (those who didn’t have the correct coloured Hotel towels) & expelled very quickly!!

Room Tip: Ask for a floor with few Children, as high as possible so you cannot hear people banging around upst...

We stayed for 4days on a recent golf trip.

We found the hotel location was very good. 2 great pools and right on the beach. Vyse impressed that the pools had life guards to protect the customers.

Breakfast had a large variety for all the different nationalities present at the hotel. The Hotel buffet each night was a particular high light quite reasonable and believe me you don't go away hungry.

We have superior ocean view rooms and were all very happy.

The Hotel I would suggest needs a renovation in the next 3-5 years the drab colors need to be overhauled.

Staff were very helpfully especially the bell boys who were wonderfully.

I have been going to Sanya for over 7 years now, and my son (now 7 years old) loves this place. It's got good pools, great beach access, a few dining options (Chinese / Euro-ish / Japanese) , decent room-service. Lots of kids staying there too.

i would recommend this place to anyone who focused on a "kid-centric" holiday.

I would not stay here if I were on a solo-trip , or a romantic weekend etc, it does not offer a great deal of luxury and it's a bit over-priced. But as I said , it's great for kids

Room Tip: Go for luxury sea-view twin / double and you might get an upgrade to Sea-view suite (it happened to...

The hotel is occupied mostly half by chinese and half by russians. Both not the rowdy kind. Two nice pools, although pool 1 is adjacent to a high rise construction site at the moment so noisy. Pools are open till 23:00.
Hotel has beach acces and ample beach chairs. Sea was pretty rough ( red flag) but people still went in.
Breakfast both chinese and western style with plenty choices and good quality. This part of Sanya not very interesting, but good for a beach vacation.

Stayed at this hotel for a change of scenery, and to check out different part of Sanya. Couple of years ago we stayed at the Marriott Sanya by the Yalong Bay. We were curious about the differences. The atmposhphere is very much different and we got what we hoped for. There are many options to dine in and it is much busier. Two years ago, in spite of a beautiful beach, and facilities one felt isolated and limited in options. Also, the Marriott was much more luxurious and of course expensive. Indeed, as already noted the area is very much focused toward the Russian tourist, but I feel even more on the domestic Chinese crowd. So you felt you were very much travelling with the locals, which is what we wanted. Of course, it was also nice to have the Russians along. I loved the different eating options, such as Pizza Hut, wonderful borscht and other eastern European dining options. Suprisingly, also Russian pop music was really good. Of course there was also tons of Chinese and especially fish choices.
The hotel itself was quite nice, with two pools openned and a beach only steps away. The beach boardwalk with many restaurants went a long way and was excellent. Accross the hotel were couple of stores where you could buy alcohol, snacks and any other personal necessities one may need. The deluxe ocean view room was very comfortable, light and TV provided many channels, both English and Chinese. Internet was available in the room, and wi-fi was accessible in the lobby. There is also a little bakery store, as well as ATM in the hotel. The massage services were excellent and legit, nothing sketchy going on as one previous contributor alluded to. We booked a family package, which included breakfast, and free bed for our daughter, and the final cost was about $690.00(including taxes) for four nights. Definitely not cheap, but several hundreds less than the Marriott at the Yalong bay. Just a word about the beach. It was quite adequate and water was lovely. Personally, I cannot tell the difference from Yalong bay. One downside of the hotel was its breakfast, which I found disappointing. In spite of a huge variety, me and my family did not like the quality. I cannot recommend it. There are other options for breakfast, such as eating out in some of the restaurants offering breakfast and there ia a Pizza Corner couple of minutes away, that has waffles and other yummy options. I would definitely return to this hotel, perhaps for better deal and without breakfast. We really enjoyed the buzz and the activity around us.

I stayed in the hotel for a week, and the impression us really positive. The overal looking is of a newly decorated building. The breakfast is full, more of Chinese but still various. There are several restaraunts for the dinner on the hotel, including the BBQ,this is the field to work at,I'd recommend to dine somewhere out.
The beach is nice and clean, with the chairs and is.literary a few steps from the hotel.
