“Relaxing resort with good facilities”
Reviewed 7 March 2014

Resort is located in a quiet area with golf courses and palm trees, offers spacious rooms with balconies and sea views, giving it a relaxing feel. Service was above expectations. You will need to get a car to venture around but the resort has many dining and recreational options. We were there for a business retreat so it was fine. Meeting facilities are good and the stay was enjoyable.

I've been there last year with my girl friend, the location is very good and easy to find, staff is very friendly, the bell is very hot when we arriving the resort, they help for take luggage and send to room, I especially like to introduce the buffet breakfast, it's amazing, the foods looks over 100 choice, I'll come back next time.

I love this resort! They have beautiful rooms and great amenities. The best part about it is that they have a private beach, complete with thatched umbrellas, surfboard rentals, and the like. There are some businesses close by along the beach with jetski rentals and that sort as well. One downside - the restaurant on site is a tad too expensive and the bill will pile up if it's your only dining option. But that's not really a huge problem. You can always walk down the beach or take a cab to another resort with other restaurants!

Stayed here for a long weekend, most of the 5* hotels are located along a stretch of beach each one after the other. Found this hotel to be a little out dated compared to the rest. There is nowhere to go outside of this little group of hotels, the local town offers nothing in terms of nightlife and restaurants. I think the claim to fame is that this hotel is where the miss world competition took place for a few years. It hasn't been given a facelift since then Better options in the Ritz Carlton or even the Pullman is more modern although it doesn't have direct beach access. The amenities are fine and food was of a decent standard.clientele at the pool had bad habit of spitting etc. not what you expect at an international 5* hotel but i suppose thats what you get in Sanya, not naming any names.

I had the true pleasure of a 5 day stay at this beautiful resort. I travel a lot and I've stayed at more than my share of hotels in the past 30 years and this hotel is among the top 3 for me. Yalong Bay is a beautiful area about 30 minutes from downtown Sanya. The facilities are excellent, the hotel is sparkling clean and well kept. But, far and away what makes this hotel special is it's staff. It's entire staff. These people genuinely enjoy what they do and it shows. It didn't matter what or who you asked, you always got an answer or your request immediately expedited. The buffet was extraordinary and I highly recommend it. The only slight criticism I would have of the hotel is that it's Chinese Restaurant is somewhat overpriced for the quality of the cuisine it serves. The Chinese restaurant next door at The Hilton was much better and a better value. All in all you are just not going to find a better overall resort than this.

Limited food and activity options in the area. Nice beach, but nothing special for a tropical resort. Hotel food and drink is ok, but extremely overpriced. The staff is trying, but lacks training in a service mentality. They have a very difficult time communicating in anything but Chinese. We experienced a typhoon, with interrupted television, power, air conditioning, restaurant facilities, etc. no concessions were offered. They even lacked the flexability to sell wine by the drink when the house brand ran out, even though there were similarly priced wines still in stock (all priced over US$ 50 a bottle). The incompetence of the Sanya aiport is another story.

Room Tip: Above the third floor.

We were so delighted to receive a truly warm welcome on arrival. The staff were ever so friendly and delighted to see Australians. We felt like old friends.
The rooms are beautiful and for a small amount extra we upgraded to the grand ocean view.
The pool area is amazing - I liked the fact there are quiet areas to sit unlike some resorts where there is constant music and bar staff intruding on the serenity.
The only thing we didn't like here was the price of food. We literally couldn't afford to eat in the hotel. (Apart from breakfast which was included). Luckily there is a restaurant strip and shopping area not far away, but it would have been nice to have lunch by the pool some days.

Room Tip: Upgrade to grand ocean view.
