This hotel is OK, it is a 'business' hotel which from a westerners point of view is a bit more like a bog standard Holiday Inn but a bit more dated. Our room was a decent size and the breakfast was good enough, mostly Chinese foods to choose from rather than toast/cereal etc. The room itself was a little bit grubby but the bedding was all clean so nothing too terrible! The staff spoke a bit of English and helped us out with train tickets etc but we had to take quite a lot of time explaining what we were after.
We stayed in Shijiazhuang because we had a Lonely Planet book which had suggested there were things to see in the area - our two day trips (Zhengding and a stone village) were good in the end but in retrospect I wouldn't stop off here again just for them. Be prepared to be stared at (even more than usual) because there are absolutely no westerners about here!More
