With all the recent news about poor food quality in China I've begun to be a bit apprehensive about eating at "dives". But my concerns were put at bay when we (the hotel staff and guests) stopped by here during an early AM bike ride.
The locally famous meatball fried dumplings ("Man tou") have a sweet-savory taste that has the "pop tart" surprise of boiling hot, freakinly (is that a word?) amazingly tasty "soup" inside. It's like two meals in one!
The dough is crisp on the outside and, because of the "soup" it has soft and not too gooey center.
I can speak for prices as they were purchased for us, but based on the clientele I would guess they were priced at just above "street vendor" prices. (ya gotta pay rent!)
If you don't eat at this location, know there are three other locations (at the time of this posting). Just ask any local or a taxi driver.
I'm soo hungry now....
