“Location location location”
Reviewed 24 August 2012

We stayed here on a small business trip for 4 nights. The location of the hotel was absolutely fantastic; situated in the heart of the main old town town city of Suzhou where things are more than cheap and plenty of true, euthentic and delicious resturants.
Staff have a hard time understanding English but will really try and do there best. The room was nice with a large semi comfortable chinese bed and a work desk with internet access and great air-con. The toiletries where terrible, cheap and smelt of something you would not wish to wash yourself with. The hotel reception and lobby/bar area was large, spacious and full of light overlooking a nice man-made water feature. Gym was very basic and I didnt get to use the swimming pool. Breakfast was great! I would stay again for the location and the price...a Bargin!!

Well located hotel, in a shopping street full of bars and restaurants. Elegant lobby and friendly staff but, unfortunately, our room was equipated with a strange bathroom, that provided no intimacy because the shower was not protected from the room, so you could see everything that was happening inside from the bed. Maybe some curtain or a translucent bath screen would have been better, even romantic...

I stayed here for business trip for two nights, always a problem in China getting a non smoking room even when you book one. However this hotel had a whole floor for non smokers. Strange thing is its called the Ladies floor and has ashtrays and matches in the room , go figure.
The rooms are tired and dark however bed was comfortable.
Did not eat at the hotel as there a re plenty of restaurants in the vicinity and the street outside is also full of bars.
Overall it was OK.

this property was extremely hard to get around.
the amenities (night club, pool, and fitness facility) were separated from our building.
breakfast was amazing, but that was about it.
the rooms are extremely dated and need a major face-lift.

Location is pretty good, opposite to the nanyuan hotel(5*) ,5 minutes walk to master net garden & 20 minutes to guanqian street; General Lin-biao's underground shelter & Chiang wei-guo's old house worth a visit(in nanyuan hotel).

We stay in building #1(yuan-zhong-lou) which seems newly decorated campare to building #2(shan-shui-lou),lcd,desktop...good & enough.

Service just so so:our check-in date is my wife's birthday, reception no feedback, hotel no birthday cake(am I ask for too much?),breakfast is ordinary.

SO, if the price is ok(we book through ctrip rmb568/all-in/2 breakfast included),it will be ok then.

Hot and humid in Suzhou during this time. Great location and close to everything. The town is really wonderful with very nice people. The room was fine for what we needed. Do not open your windows for mosquitoes are pretty healthy at this time. Outside area is lovely but, wear your repellant at night. I would stay here again. Bottled water is available for brushing your teeth and drinking.

Although the room was a reasonable size, we found that the bathroom was very moldy around the sink and shower. We could hear a man coughing all night in the room beside us, so definitely is not sound proof. We were on a bus tour and one of the girls on the tour got bug bites after staying in this hotel. Suzhou is a very damp place so it may be difficult to keep out the mold. However, there is no excuse of bed bugs.
