We took a taxi/cab from the train station and asked him to drive the length of Binhai road. It was a cold day and it had rained earlier.

The drive scenery was fascinating! We asked him to stop for some photo opportunities a few times along the way.

I would go again and plan more stops. There are many things to see along the way that we missed because we were whizzing along in a taxi.

Whilst the road itself is free the taxi cost us 100rmb and was off the meter!

The road is nice yes, and now you even get a trail 5 meter to it for people who want to walk.
The problem is that this place is so famous that, during week-end, it's just a line of cars one after the other, driving at 20km/h... and walking next to it is not very charming...
How come it is not even possible to climb up the mountain ?
Avoid going there with a baby stroller, there is no sidewalk on the road and the side hike has stairs every 100 meters... very badly done...

This is a garden alongside the road for a couple of kilometres with random sculptures - cows, a snail, mushrooms. Its alright

Many people recommended me to spend some time over this place. Took a taxi instead of having a long walk. The whole road is long enough for you to watch the sunset. New cafe and shops plus accommodation places are increasing. But if you really have to walk, the traffic is a bit too much for joggers. A coastal drive would be better and you have to bear with constructions as china is having many places undergoing development for rails and bridges by these years.

A coastal drive but with average sights. The locals normally walk along the road for exercise. There is a story behind the creation of the road and is always included in the city tour package but I think the outskirts of Dalian has more to offer.
