“Fourth Time There In Eighteen Months”
Reviewed 30 June 2012

Description is definitely true; Hotel is bang smack where many things are located. Close to transport, department stores, shops, markets, many good restaurants, railway station, The Russian Street & especially Yuguang Street Church Protestant Church. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. My rooms have always been pretty good, with one BIG minus because wifi is only available in ground floor foyer area & also at 1st floor cafe lounge. Rooms are well fitted out with everything always appearing to be new. Breakfasts are a highlight except for the orange juice which tastes more like a soft drink; this anomaly should be rectified by management. Hotel staff are certainly okay; especially Coral from the breakfast / lunchtime dining room staff, who remembered me from previous stays. However health spa staff were incapable of giving me a lower back massage which is a hopeless situation. Still I have already happily booked to return on 25Jul2012.

Room Tip: Book early to ensure you don't need to go elsewhere.

Nice room (QUIN SUITE) but this is minimum for a 4 star hotel. The location is also good. However, staff can barely speak any English and they did not seem to care much about my requests either. The were not even able to understand the words breakfast or taxi for the airport - management should have invested a bit more on training. I paid for breakfast but I asked to have it in my room 30min earlier as I had a flight to catch and they said that they could only give me "water and small something'' I asked for milk and they said they couldn't. Also, they indicated that they have airport service (photo attached) but what they did is just grab me a taxi from the street (the driver didn't even help me with the luggage). Very poor services for such a branding and central hotel.

Room Tip: Pay £10 and go to a better hotel or save your money for a cheaper one, this one does not worth the m...

We have just returned from a 10 night stay in a Queen Suite- which I'm sure was a Kingsize bed with 2 large rooms plus the bathroom,2 large TV's,2 couches to relax on and view over the city. All that we needed except maybe a softer mattress but that is Asia. We were more than happy with the hotel but by far,it's best feature was it's location- fronting Tianjin Pedestrian Street. Once out the front of this hotel, whatever way you turn you end up somewhere you need to be. Left takes you straight to Russian Street, right, takes you straight to Zhongshan Square,Renmin Rd with all the up market shopping. One end of Tianjin Pedestrian Street takes you to Victory Plaza( shopping heaven) and Train and Bus Station and the other to amazing Fur Shops. Directly out the front are local bus stops to take you to many of the sights- listed on the back of the bus stops are all the stops in English and the best part is each ride is just 1RMB.So cheap and easy. The only thing that was a bit repetitive was the buffet breakfast- it didn't vary much so after 10 days we were looking for something different but it was filling and in abundance and kept us going well into the day. WiFi not in the rooms only in the lobby and dining area was a bit of a nuisance as you needed to leave your room to check emails etc. I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel to all

we are staying here now and have found it to be excellent, The staff have gone out of their way to assist us booking ongoing trains and buses as we head for the ice festival in Harbin. The location is very central to large malls, starbucks and the train station. Adjacent to the train station is the huge undergound shopping mall, it's enormous! Our room on the 18th floor is clean and quiet with a good view. The bathroom is not large but quite a good design, plenty of hot water and nice towels. The bed is a typical harder Chinese style but not as hard as some I have come across.

We have found the breakfast to be quite yummy, for westerners there are juices, cereals, toast, eggs (fried, etc) and some salads to add in as well as fresh fruit. There is also congee style hot porridge; not much to complain of here. Some contributers mention lack of English, but I guess if you're travelling in other lands that's what you get. All the staff at the front desk that we have met over three days have good English. We have a few Chinese phrases that we use to get by such as 'where is' and 'how much' and knowing numbers and counting is a great help; but we travel in China often for a holiday as we love it, I guess it may be different for some folks if they have to come for work.

The locals in China always seem happy to talk if you approach them, sometimes they reply in perfect English! I think in 2012 we should all aim to learn another language!

we plan to come back in summer one day; it's freezing now! And we will stay here again

Room Tip: Higher floors on East/ SE side have a nice view

Pleasant stay in this simple nice hotel. Nothing luxury or fancy. Room is still well maintained and clean, so as to the toilet (the most important) and other amenities in the room. Location is good, near some shopping places and restaurant.

Breakfast, not a fancy one and fairly average. Limited choices but with mixture of chinese and western style.

Rooms were moderately clean. Bathroom was very simple with no frills. Breakfast was 100% Chinese with warm milk - yuk! Price was economical and worth staying for two nights. Several stores within easy walking distance, including Starbucks. Would only stay here again if no other options available. Do not expect good English! Can hear traffic noise and lots of horns.

Ok. I need to be careful here. We were paying around $60 per night and were there for 12 nights in a suite. Room size was great. English Barrier was huge but my wife is a native.

Location was perfect. Heart of Dalian. Close to the train station etc. My major issues was with the breakfast. Almost 100% Chinese style, and specific to that area. That said the executive chef was able to get me poached eggs each morning.

It's. Good place to stay as it's cheap. Dalian is a little difficult in general because of the language barrier. I would probably pay a bit more and stay at the Interconinental, Kempinsky, Swissotel or Shangrila. That said. Value for money. H.inn would trump them all.
