Certificate of Excellence

I give this hotel a five-star rating because I stayed in Hyatt hotels twelve nights in a roll and this one turns out to be the best one. The location is not centrally situated if you would like to do some shopping or looking for some night life activities, meanwhile, very ideal for a city escape because the hotel has a wonderful view of the sea in the Shilaoren bathing site. We had a suite for about 3000yuan/night and I should say it's well worth the price. Every morning, the panoramic view of the sea through the floor to ceiling window in the living room are breathtaking. Definitely one of the best Hyatt hotels in China.
However, it's also necessary to note that the service is not at the same level of the view. During my stay in the early July, many college students are doing an internship in this hotel, they are somehow untrained and sometimes unable to help you. Despite of this weak point, I will definitely come back if I visit Qingdao again.

Room Tip: ask for a view room or a suite, you will never regret for it.

Very comfortable rooms with great view, buffet has a lot of choices both western and eastern food, it is thought far from the centre but it depends on your travel plans, I was there for work reasons and it didn't represent a problem. The stuff was always very nice and available to help in everything I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for comfort, elegance and good attention.

Great rooms, facilities, food & service. Hotel with best scenic location in town. Highly recommended. Spa is very good. Food is very fresh, & choice at the buffet is huge. Friendly english-speaking staff. Amenities are up to date. A la carte restaurant & bar with high standards and excellent food. Second time here in the span of 1 month, & I know it won't be the last. Next time, since I'm moving for work in the city, I'll bring my family along.

My Girlfriend and I travelled to the Hyatt for a weekend away. The rooms were not cheap so expected a bit of luxury. The rooms didn't fail to live up to it and were spacious and impressive but this was where the impressive feel ended. The motto of the hotel is ' we speak your language' this is true provided that language is Chinese. On the first day we went to the salon but they didnt speak English and didnt even have a price list, when we enquired at reception they told us its not part of the hotel, we sub let it! We attempted to use the swimming pool three times but the noise was unbearable with children and adults shouting and using the safety rings as rubber rings. Noone asked them to refrain or quieten down, hardly relaxing. We asked them to please quieten down and even the pool attendant laughed at us. We decided to have a massage instead, big mistake. The massage itself was great but the doors didnt close and it was right next to the main thoroughfare of the swimming pool area and hence was like having a massage in an airport terminal, you couldn't even hear the tranquil music playing to relax you. In the room the internet was intermittant at best and could never access google, hardly ideal for researching places to eat out. Because of this we had to eat in the hotel in the evening but again it was like eating in a playground with children running around the tables constantly, shouting. In the afternoon we ordered spring rolls, simple enough but came out burnt. We sent them back only for them to return re cooked but in exactly the same state. The final nail in the coffin was when we did eventually research a place to eat out we tried to get the concierge to get us a cab. When we showed him the address he called the cab. The cab driver then didnt want to take us and proceeded to tell us the food wasnt delicious and the concierge agreed! They said the Chinese food wasn't good there, it was an Italian! In all the hotel is a lovely building but the experience was spoiled by some very easily correctable service errors. Will not be going back.

great choice in t quingqao, the hotel is NEW, what is in my perspective a very good starting point.
the breakfast is well served, with plenty of options for both western and Chinese.
the bedrooms are large and can easily fit an extra bed.
the pool is very good, the gym is fair and the beach is really for walking only... at the end you are not in the tropics anyway.
the bars are great with good selection of beers and wine.
it is a 5 star hotel

The hotel is located nicely at the shore and staff is friendly and willing to go the extra mile.
When I arrived I was, once they checked my name escorted to the club floor to process my check in. Its not something I am too fond off but as I was not in a rush I decided to go with the flow. To my surprise this was one of the nicest Recency Clubs in terms of space, large but I mean set up with lots of space between the seating area's and beautifully decorated, for my taste of course.

The room was nice, bathroom as one can expect from an upmarket Hyatt but as mentioned by many others, bed very hard. A general trend in Asia which I do not support.
The room appears spacious due to the glas wall between bathroom and rest of the room but with a nice 'active' glass you can blur if you wish so.

The only actual 'problem' i had is that the internet was very slow. I mean, I was even having problems getting mail in and out and especially when attachments were incl.
Having said that the Hyatt has developed a new system whereby the either give you free of charge or for card holders free internet. But its at basic speed........well speed, no its almost going back to the stone age.
Of course you can get the high speed version, but.....please pay.
I had this trip the same experience in Bangkok Hyatt and to some extend Hyatt Recency Hong Kong too.
I find it for the cards holders with a higher ranking a slap in the face and to me its being toooo smart Hyatt! Remember so many hotels offer real high speed internet for free nowadays.

As I only stayed for 2 nights and taking the next day the high speed train to Zibo up and down for meetings I discovered that the hotel was a little bit outside in relation to the train station. It leaves me the impression that if you need to be downtown you might not favor this hotel but if you don't mind to be in traffic in the morning its worthwhile to make this your choice.

All in all I had a very positive stay and feeling about this hotel.

I was in Qingdao for a convention. It took place at this hotel.

Rooms are very cozy. They have a nice bed with a a good lights set up. Also noise isolation is very good.

Breakfast buffet was nice . Very complete. The cafeteria area is huge.

It is defensively a 5 star complete hotel.
