I was surprised to catch the owner, JD, roasting beans before his cafe opened. Many places don't open before 8:30AM around here, so it was great that he was willing to serve me coffee at 7AM. On top of it, he is a true artisan. He built the roaster himself that he roasts the beans in. He recommended a bean, then weighed the proper amount to grind for my cup. Next he timed himself while pouring the water over the ground coffee. A delicious cup for sure and I've already been back for more.
Also, he speaks English.
