Description: It’s easy to see why The Bookworm is such a hit among both locals and foreigners in Chengdu; where else can you spend savouring fabulous international food, browsing thousands of books, sipping good espresso, being regaled by eminent authors, catching up with friends over your favourite meal, or simply just checking your emails? The spacious, interconnecting rooms with floor-to-ceiling books on every wall are light and airy in summer, yet cosy and snug in winter.

Came there because of the reviews, was hoping to find a relaxing place and for a different kind of lunch. The environment was nice but the food was not impressive at all. The hummus didn't taste much like hummus and the sandwich was dry...

2nd time we have been really dissapointed when going to Bookworm for lunch. This time i didn't even get my food at all. My son and husband had finished their food and I had to ask for mine, it seemed it was forgotten. I could stand that but what is a bigger problem is that they don't seem to bother or give an excuse. I'm doubting I will go there again!

As in all the other reviews, the hummus is horrible and odd and crudités are meager, but hard to get 'fresh' raw veg in Sichuan, so...

Seats were plenty comfy. Book selection is great. For dinner a bit of a show :). Food was tasty and smoothies too.

I just enjoyed the break from China :). Love the menus too. I'm a book nut.

Eventually found this little gem, the taxi drivers aren't the best in Chengdu but they are friendly which compensates for their lack of knowledge, anyway back to The Bookworm. Nice atmosphere. Owner is really nice guy Asian/American with a really good sense of humour. Food priced really reasonably as is the booze.
Found the Western dishes nicer than the Eastern but all still fresh and tasty. No hesitation in recommending.
