This hotel is so romantic, it's supper chic. someone told us that it used to be someone's house, and it feels just like that. the staff is so nice. the - previous - interior garden was made into the pool area, which is small but so charming! And Cartagena is just SO nice overall, everything was lovely!! :) super recommend this hotel!

Words like those shared by you, encourage us to continue providing an excellent service, Casa del Arzobispado was built at the end of the 17th century, it was inhabited by the procer Antonio Jose de Ayos. In the year 2002 the restoration begins to convert into what it is today, the Hotel Casa del Arzobispado.

Our staff is always ready to meet all the requirements of our guests and our garden provides a warm and quiet place to rest, together with our beautiful city make our hotel the ideal place to vacation.

We sincerely appreciate your recommendation, we hope to continue being your first option in your next trips to Cartagena.

Cordially,

Miguel Angel Corcho F.

This hotel is unbelievable, and you simply cannot beat the price. The architecture is beyond beautiful, the location is right in the center of the Old City, it's clean and well kept, and the staff is very helpful. I'd 100% stay here again (I hope I get the chance!) and would recommend to both couples and friends.

I have no words to describe the beauty of this hotel; you have to experience the magic yourself. I love this hotel. I had a beautiful time and the service is A1. The history and the beauty of the building are a great experience.

The Casa Arzobispado is a traditional an original antique house in "El Centro". The pool is clean and a plus taking in to the account the hot weather in the city.
The hotel is very clean, breakfast was so good. They have 5 different choices and the server guy is SUPER nice!
Our experience with the room was not was the best. We had a prepaid reservation for a Junior Suite and first they gave us a standard room after we complained, we got a nice room but with a musty smell in the first floor. We complained again and they offered us another room in the second floor, small, in my opinion a standard room, but nice and clean. We are very disappointed about the way the hotel managed the situation. They never apologized for the inconveniences, and the manager never spoke to us. We felt like they didn't care. So make sure you get what you pay for.
The hotel is very nice, but in our opinion they need to improve the management.

AMAZING STAY!

Hotel Casa Del Arzobispado was recommended by a friend who is from Cartagena. We were leery about staying there because it is so small (only 10 rooms) and is categorized as a 3 star hotel. Well, as the saying goes "nice things come in small packages!" And nice is just an understatement, our stay was romantically AMAZING!

This 17th century residence of the Archbishop, thus the name "Casa Del Arzobispado" (Archbisop's House), is across the street from the Cathedral (which is was under renovations when we were there), and one block away from the main square "Plaza Simon Bolivar." It is so centrally located that there is no need for transportation since everything is all walking distance within the walled city. The rooms are very spacious, well appointed, and have a fresh clean smell that is complimented by the blooming night jasmine in the enclosed Spanish patio with a relaxing pool/spa where you can also receive an even more exhilarating massage.

I say "rooms" because we stayed in two different rooms during our four night stay. Which brings me to the only drawback this boutique hotel was temporarily being plagued with construction noise (the adjacent building is under renovation and the adjoining rooms suffer from the construction noise from 8 in the morning until 5, Monday through Saturday). However, the amazing staff spoke to the construction workers and asked to keep the construction noise to a minimum and it worked. But to us, however, who love to stay up until the wee hours of the morning (which is perfectly doable and encouraged in Cartagena and that Costeños (locals) call "parrandiando"), sleeping-in late is expected, but not too late, however, as to miss the delectable full breakfast menu that is included with the room. Although staff did their best to keep the noise under control, it was nevertheless, intolerable. HOWEVER, not allowing any guest to be disappointed, the front desk staff immediately located another room for us to move into, but suggested, that if we could wait a few hours, they would have a special surprise. We decided to wait, and the surprise was certainly well worth the wait. They moved us to the largest suite in the hotel, with its private courtyard and open air shower, that in the summer's frequent tropical and cooling rains only added to the room's stunning romantic ambiance as you showered enclosed and protected, yet an arms length away from the actual falling rain. Amazing doesn't do our romantic experience justice.

And surprises were a seemingly daily occurrence. This trip was a birthday celebration and when we arrived (after a tiring 6 hour flight delay) the front desk staff, led by Jaime and the front desk assistant/bellhop, Jean Carlos, noticed that it was my birthday from my passport information during the checking-in process and without mentioning a word, when we returned from a wonderful dinner at a restaurant Jaime recommended a popular "Costeño" cuisine called "Cande"(in fact all his recommendations were stunningly delicious..."El Cuzco" (Peruvian), "El Santisimo"(French/Caribbean fusion), and "El Bohemio"(Mediterranean/Colombian fusion), we found balloons, a delicious cake and candles, making our welcome and my birthday all the more special.

Which brings me to the staff, the attention was meticulous. Why this hotel is only characterized as a 3 star hotel is baffling. I owned a highly rated Trip Adviser boutique hotel in Hollywood Beach, Florida, but this hotel and its staff would have put my boutique hotel to shame.

I already mentioned the exceptional welcome offered by Jaime and Jean Carlos, and their unmatched professionalism and attention to detail and service. The rest of the staff, particularly Javier and Reimer, who assured a prompt and delicious breakfast each morning and
Lilian and Jeaneth, who made sure our room was spotlessly cleaned and attended to without delay while we enjoyed our delicious breakfast that was served in a stunning colonial salon that probably once served as a chapel in the 17th century only added to the outstanding service. Not to be outdone, the evening staff, alternating between Armando and Orlando made sure that our stay was not only equally enjoyable, but also safe by ensuring we were well equipped with a map of the walled city and areas we needed to be more aware of our surroundings, although I found the city quite safe and very friendly.

Again, I have to wonder why this lovely hotel is only categorized by only 3 stars? In my opinion, even a 5 star designation is no match for how we would characterize our AMAZING experience and stay!

Dear Emilio

thank you for sharing every detail of your experience in our city, we thank you even more have trusted the recommendation received.

all our staff works hard to offer a personalized service, taking every detail very carefully, always looking for the complete satisfaction of all our guests, all these do not facilitate them the size of our house, which is located in a strategic point of the city of Cartagena, facilitating the fast accessibility to the most important places around us.

we regret the discomfort generated by external noise, we are always very attentive to control this, meeting any requirement quickly.

we will share with all our team your opinion, especially with Jaime, Jean Carlos, Reimer, Lilia, Janeth and the rest. They will be very happy to know that all their service contributes to make your stay incredible.

We hope to return soon to the Hotel Casa del Azobispado .... your house in Cartagena

Best Regards
