We arrived at the airport and had made arrangements for transfer to Casa Claver with JJ
(see tour forums). He did an excellent job in getting us to the hotel with a stop at a local
Super Mercado to get a case of water, two cases of beer and a bottle of Rum along with some snacks. After our arrival at Casa Claver he gave us a brief walking tour of the area
(most helpful). The hotel staff spoke limited English other than the Hotel Manager (Camila Maria Sasa) who spoke perfect english and was exteremely accomodating with tours and assistance. The 5 suite hotel was especially nice to return to after touring El Centro. The suite had 12 foot high cielings with 8 foot tall patio doors aroud two sides of the building which we could walk out on to view the street activity below. It was fully air conditioned with ceiling fans in each room. The very nice entertainment system included an I-pod with Bose speakers and a television in the living area and master bedroom and included American Television channels. The kitchen was fully furnished and the laundry was great to wash clothing so we did not need a lot of clothes. We did the laundry ourselves. This was a luxury complex and one of the nicest places I have stayed. It is in new condition and has ultra security. The pool is especially nice and private. The hotel served breakfast in our room, made to order. This is one of the nicer properties in Cartagena. I would not hesitate to return to this facility. While in Cartagena, it is important to ask for prices from vendors, services, taxis etc. as the prices will be excessive if not pre-determined. We felt safe in the city during our entire stay.
