“Fantastic Experience”
Reviewed 24 June 2014

This is probably my 10th stay at this hotel, and I will be going back for more. I cannot get enough of the well designed lobby, the many pool areas, the "infinite pool" on the 10th floor, and my favorite attraction: the amazing buffet breakfast. The staff is excellent and always ready to lend a helping hand. The rooms are large and very accommodating. The only drawback is that the beaches are now public where before they were private and the hotel had many beach amenities and private security - not a show-stopper for anyone to enjoy the beaches nonetheless. The 15 minute drive to the old city will soon be cut to 10 minutes or less when they open a tunnel project that will bypass the current need to drive through a busy neighborhood.

My only item for improvement will be wi-fi connection in the room. I only manage to get 1 or 2 bars at most while in the lobby and pool areas you get a full connection - weird.

Cartagena is my hometown, and this hotel is one of the best in the city, I had a job there for a 8 months long time ago, great place to stay at, I ran into a few celebrities actually.
Only problem is communication skills. Most of the Staff is on the process of learning English of French.

My wife and I here stayed here for 4 nights. Hotel has a nice layout, with interesting swimming pool layout and would be good for a family. 3 issues: 1) staff are strictly 'by the book' - we were unable to get a glass of tap water for free, or to use the room for half an hour beyond checkout, 2) very limited shade by the pool (and Cartagena is hot) staff wouldn't let us move chairs into the shade created by the building, 3) cleanliness - we have lived in Colombia for three years and really, for the price, this is the dirtiest hotel we have stayed in. Cartegena Hilton is a better bet (and offers great breakfasts).

The hotel staff is very friendly and make an effort to speak English. The hotel has some nice shops and a coffee bar. If your rates include all meals, go for it. However, the price of the breakfast buffet or lunch buffet is very expensive when thinking in Colombian currency (Pesos). There is a beach front seafood restaurant right in the corner that sells much better food for a very reasonable price. The rooms were super clean and comfortable. The pools that I went near the tower were shallow and not ideal for swimming. There's a kids water play area and play ground.
The beach in front of the hotel is not the best, gray sand (but the water is clean, at least I was told), and the security advised us to avoid it. I did not see anything wrong, just some people selling stuff and renting stuff.

Room Tip: Rooms in the corner of the tower have a great view and an L-shaped porch.

We arrived for a week vacation using the all-inclusive with Noli-Tours. This would include food and alcoholic drinks. Problem here was that during the weekend Colombia held elections, and the hotel suspended serving alcoholic drinks for 3 days to respect the government laws. The hotel made no alternate arrangements to supply us beer, wine or alcohol ie. placing in our mini bar. No warning was given either by hotel or tour operator. Also, there are no cabanas or lounge chairs on the beach. Essentially you will not find the beach usable. Be sure to check out this hotel before booking.

Stayed here for a few days. Bright and sunny room, good air con once I got a hang of the controls. Range of different restaurant and pool options with direct access to the beach.

Excellent breakfast with a wide choice.

A little out of town, cabs are however not expensive.

The new tower is a huge step up from the older units. The swimming pool is really nice and the higher rooms had great views, style, comfort and amenities. The service complaints are understandable if one is expecting 5 star service, but honestly I found that all staff really tried their best with a smile! The food was mediocre. I give four stars more for great facilities and decent service.
