If you are looking for a secluded place in Cartagena to enjoy your days by a quite beach, this is the right place to be. Having a hospitality background and currently working in the industry, beleive me I check absolutely EVERYTHING. Do not expect a modern resort, because you will need to stay at their new tower next door. But if you are traveling with children like we were, it was the correct location. The service was excellent any time of the day and the entire facility was always spotless (you can tell that that they had enough staff 24/7). Five minutes from the airport and very close to most atractions (the resort shuttle was a great feature). The food quality was very good for all three meals and the kindness of the staff to serve you at all time was amazing. I recommend you request a room on the third floor as you get a better view of the ocean. Compliments to the live entertainment every night!!! it adds value to the lounge areas near the main lobby. To tell you the truth, I had high expectations and they were definitely met. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable, you made the difference.

This hotel is a great location to stay in Cartagena. You are near the beautiful historic centre - the hotel has a regular bus service into the old city and back but a taxi won´t break the bank - and you have access to a lovely long and sandy beach that never feels too crowded and where the beach vendors are kept at bay. Very unlike the Bocagrande area which is just awfully crowded, beach pretty horrible really and the beach vendors hustle you non-stop.
Perfect for families as there`s plenty for them to do, several swimming pools, bicycle hire etc. Children under 12 go free incl. breakfast!!! very good deal!!!!
We can´t be grateful enough for the great service we experienced. Only fault we found was the kitchen been rather slow, so if you are hungry order as soon as you can because it will take time... Otherwise the perfect place to stay in the beautiful Cartagena de Indias.

We stayed for a family holiday for two nights at about USD 230/night. Too expensive, as this is by no means a 5-star hotel as advertised, I believe internationally it would be fairly rated with a 3-star qualification. Rude personnel at check- in, enforced the 4 pm check-in time but rushed us out when leaving. Poor breakfast buffet, outdated rooms and public areas, a real nightmare getting pool towels, they make you sign a receipt each time you ask for a towel. I would really think twice before coming back to this property.

I have stayed here on different occasions. Location is superb, in a quiet beach with security guards who keep peddlers (a common headache in Cartagena) away. The room was just OK, the bathroom a little rusty, no luxuries. The first 2 days our room was not clean and ready at 5pm, when we came back from the beach. I had to wait one more hour until they were able to bring clean towels. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with plenty of tropical fruit, cereal, eggs, etc. Recently they added a new building (Torre del Mar) with 350 rooms, but they don't seem to have expanded services accordingly with the increased demand. The beach was crowded, and latecomers were unable to find a chair. The chairs are uncomfortable (hard plastic), and they don't provide any mats or pads. They have a little bus that goes back and forth to the colonial city every 2 hours, but it fills quickly and many people had to take a taxi. I hope they will expand their beach and transport facilities and services the next time I come here. The new tower has a modern gym and a rooftop pool with a breathtaking view. I find it hard to recommend and also not to recommend this hotel. These are the facts, and you decide depending on your priorities.

My family and I stayed there this past June and left very disappointed. We chose to stay there as we have small children and the amenities for the kids where important. The amenities for the kids where the only plus. After checking in we needed to move rooms due to foul smell, broken furniture, and cleanliness issues. Took hours to get in a new room. While waiting we ran into two other groups also trying to move rooms. New room was far from expectations as well. We had daily service issues in the restaurants. Food was average on the buffet...However if you chose ala carte, it takes forever to get your food. It seemed as if the staff did not like guests to order ala carte as our server seemed upset that we wanted to. I am sure there is better than this in Cartagena.

My wife, myself, and 7 month old baby stayed here for 2 nights in late April after spending 5 nights in old Catagena. We were looking for some beach time at the end of a trip. The resort is clean and tidy, if slightly dated, with adequate rooms and reasonable value for money. The pool area is very good, and the resort is very well set up for young kids. Beach is probably best in the area, nice sand, and well maintained. Water shallow and nice for swimming. It's not the aqua blue Carribean sea of popular perception but nice enough. The dining optinos are a little disappointing and I would recommend going into old Cartagena if not with kids, otherwise food was adequate, typical resort fare. Breakfast was good. we asked for a late check out as flight left early evening and we had a baby and management really looked after us, without extra charge. A nice touch and one which prompted me to write this review. Not GREAT value for money but recommended, especially if with family

Not a friend of Resort-style hotels, my little kids obliged me to stay at the beach instead of one of the nice boutique hotels in the old-town - and somehow it wasn't that bad at all!

The hotel is well managed and (this being our second stay) so far everything has worked very well. Check in doesn't take ages and the staff is friendly (although lacking a bit of a peronal touch).

The rooms, on both occasions, were correct and clean. Despite being a really big hotel, the clever distribution allows for some sense of privacy and each room has a view to the beach. Also, there was never too much noise and sleep quality was good.

The beach is certainly the main asset of the hotel: it is semi-private and well kept. It's a flat beach, ideal for little kids and it lies directly in front of the hotel. Also, there are two pools, one of which can get a bit busy with kids but that's ok if you're travelling with a family.

The a-la-carte food is quite ok, the buffet option less so (not bad but rather average). Breakfast is served on the main terrace and ok.

We took advantage of the hotel shuttle that connects with the old-city at reasonable intervals (taxi is also a good and rahter cheap option) and spent our afternoons in the beautiful old town.

In summary: probably the best option if you're obliged to stay outside the old town, especially when travelling with kids.
