All the hotels in Cartagena seem to be very expensive, but we managed to get a good deal for this hotel, so Hotel Boutique las Carretas it was.
The room that we had was just off of the reception area, and could be noisy at times, but it didn't bother us too much.
The room had a lovely big bed, good pillows, air conditioning (a must in very hot Cartagena!!), good sized bathroom, fridge and balcony overlooking the street below. The room was very clean and the staff were nice.
The hotel itself is fairly small, but has room for a little pool on its upper level and a little courtyard where breakfast is served. Breakfast consisted of sweet breads, fruit, eggs, juice and coffee. Not to my taste, but definitely nothing wrong with it.
The location of the hotel is good. You are right in the old town, so you need only go downstairs and out the door to wander about.
All in all, we were very satisfied with our room and our stay at Boutique las Carretas. It doesn't have as much personality as some of the other places we have stayed, but with lovely, comfortable rooms, it was no big deal. As others have said, I think the word 'boutique' maybe misleading, so just keep that in mind.More
