Hotel Casa Pedro Romero
Reviewed 25 March 2014 via mobile

Unless you are a hipster please dont stay in this hotel. The location is terrible, you can get lost between the backpackers and the "street ladys". You can hear everything in the rooms (zero privacy) and the breakfast is terrible. One last thing: the hotel is not finished, there was an ongoing construction in the patio while we stayed. You have been warned.

Located just a block away from lively Plaza Trinidad in Getsemani, this place is a great option if you are looking for a comfortable and inexpensive stay in Cartagena. Rooms are clean, big, with high ceilings and AC. The kitchen is fully equipped. The owner and staff are friendly. Breakfast is included.

My husband & I stayed here in July 2013 and loved it.
We stayed in the front room on the street and had no problem with noise.
Breakfast being included is really handy as then you don't have to face the heat on an empty stomach! Fruit & eggs mostly, more than enough for the price you pay for such a good room. Air con 10/10, shower pressure strong but temperature could be a bit hit and miss.
Only negative at the time was that it was hard to find - no number on the door so our taxi-man was a bit lost. A friendly neighbour pointed us in the right directions though.
Javier was extremely accommodating allowing us to leave our belongings in the room while we spent a day and night away on Playa Blanca.
I would recommend this place for couples, rather than single backpackers, as you are unlikely to be able to mingle with any fellow travellers because the communal courtyard is not very large. I don't see this as a negative, I see it as a positive because you can escape back to peace and quiet. Fantastic value for money.
Many thanks for helping us have a great trip, Whitney & Stephen

A nice little 4 bedroom property around a small courtyard.

The rooms are spacious and very clean although the front rooms (1&4) face the street which can be noisy. The back rooms face onto the courtyard.

A good breakfast is served by friendly staff but there is no full time reception. You are met on arrival though.

Well located near Plaza Trinidad in Getsemani, a short walk from everything.

Good aircon, no hot water.

At the booking I didn't know what to expect, the price was great for the season!!! It was a great experience, the hotel is small bur the room was big, clean and pretty. The owner Javier and the employees were very nice and helpfull. The breakfast was also good.
It is located in a very fun neighbourhood (Getsemani), right by the Plaza de la Trinidad, good restaurants and trendy nightclubs. With a mix of european backpackers and locals it is the new and trendy place to stay in Cartagena if you are tired of JetSet and high priced not value places.

Room Tip: If you need total silence to sleep ask for a room in the inner part of the house. The exterior rooms...

this small 4 bedroom hotel is just off Plaza de Trinidad. You get a key and come and go as you like. Friendly staff that is there in the morning to prepare breakfast and clean the rooms. Everything worked fine, good AC, warm but not hot water, spacy room, basic but tastefull decoration, nice little patio. Breakfast could have been a bit more elaborate. The location is good, everything, including the walled city in easy walking distance. I felt safe in the neighborhood. Store selling drinks, snacks etc on the corner. Lots of street food options on the square, several restaurants nearby.

Room Tip: The two front rooms lead onto the road, can be a bit noisy untill around 24:00

I stayed at Casa Pedro Romero for a week, and even though there was a miscommunication with my booking.com reservation, Javier (the owner) still accommodated me so I did not have to find another place.

The rooms are spacious, the AC is controlled by you, the location is excellent (near Plaza Trinidad en Getsamani), and breakfast is included. The only faults I found with the room were that the bed was a little stiff, and the wifi did not always reach into my room.

I highly recommend this place as it is fairly comfortable and within many travelers' price range!
