Rosario islands is one of the top tourist attractions. Your esperience will depend on which tour you take. I got one boat that did not made it to the island as the individual was concerned about the time in the evening and the increase tide... why they did not warn us before the trip I do not know. The second time we attempted to go was a better experience but again the boat was overloaded with people which was a concern by most of the people in the trip. The aquarium is ok , some of us went to snorkel in another island and liked it. The island are beautiful but the tours need significant improvements.
Be ready to be patient, and cool if you want to enjoy it. The people conducting the tour are very nice and friendly.

My husband and I were on a boat trip to the Rosario Islands this past April. We were in Cartagena for a wedding and the bride and groom took us all out for the day. This was truly a magical place! Great grilled food, fish, lobster, etc and the water was mesmerizing. Must do when in Cartagena

Very unique and beautiful! 27 Islands and several National park locations. We went by boat from the marina across the street from Old Town Cartagena. A day trip is approx $40 USD PER PERSON and includes lunch and access to the resort pool and beach. A great one day adventure and a choice of stop. Brochures available at the dock.

I’m glad we decided to take this tour, it was a great experience, we had a very relaxing day to the exception that there were too many locals trying to sell you stuff and insisting.

I took a trip to “Bora Bora Beach Club” with the intention of finding a beach that is clean and honestly run away from the annoying sellers in Cartagena. The “Bora Bora” staff are very nice, the food and overall cleanest of the general area was good. However, sellers began to showed at the “Bora Bora” beach shortly after of our arrival to the island selling lobster to the “Bora Bora” guests. They arrived in a small boat that made their way into the area where all the guest were swimming and trying to have a time of tranquility. There were also other boats passing approximately 50 - 100 feet at high speeds from the beach area. The traffic of boats, the speed and proximity to the beach was in my opinion excessive and no one seems to care about it. This is a lack of consideration for all of us that paid to have a time of quietness. I do not recommend “Bora Bora”, it is a waist of time and money. The water are clear, but the whole bottom of the beach is full of rocks and dead corals. And the beach front is rather narrow. They are other destinations with much better beaches and you don’t have to pay to go to those beaches or travel one hour in boat to get to those. It come to my mind the beaches in Puerto Rico. PR has amazing beaches, and most of them within minutes of your lodging location. And if you wants to do a truly getaway, you can always go to the island of Culebra which has virgin beaches with cristal clear waters and with white sand at a fraction of the price you will pay here in Cartagena. Beside, PR is a US territory which is more secured than the overall security here or in Colombia for that matters.
