Gran Hotel is the best hostelry in this immediate neighborhood, amongst the larger hotels. Clearly, the Gran was intended to be a first-rate facility when it was constructed. Obviously dated, it has aged well, although the entire place -- furnishings and all -- is a time warp back to the Kennedy Administration. Staff is motivated and takes pride in the facility. Other than the old glass-slat windows which do little to keep out noise, it's a sound building. Restaurant fare pretty slim pickings. Plenty enough places nearby though. Guest fee (if I recollect correctly) was about $15 US.
