This museum houses a great display of artworks by Fernando Botero (he was born in 1932 in Medellín), and also other remarkable works of contemporary (Colombian) artists. The building itself used to be Medellín´s city hall till 1988 and was built in the 1930´s.
The square in front, renamed into "Plaza Botero", is home to some of Botero´s most known sculptures. Easy to reach by metro (station Parque Berrio), or by car, with a car park in the back of the museum.
Went here in between customer visits, instead of staying in some restaurant decided to spent a lunch break on art. With two hours of your time this museum can very well be navigated.
