“the worts hotel ever”
Reviewed 18 August 2010

I had travel all over the world and this is the worst hotel I had ever been. I wanted to stay at decameron marazul but it was full, so I had no choice but to stay at this hotel.

Fists the hotel was assembled with prefabricated material, therefore the hotel is basically made with paper, you can hear literally everything what is going on on the next room. But worst is that the hotel is in a bar area in which they play loud music until 6 in the morning. If you want to rest forget about it, it is like being at the bars.

Second, the service at the restaurant is terrible, it is better to make a reservation at marazul, but it will depend in availability and you have to pay a taxi to take you there..

The staff at the reception very rude, I wanted to move at a different hotel, even I was willing to lose my deposit but the weekend I was there was a festive weekend and all the hotels were full. so I had to endure a miserable trip.

San Andres it is interesting island but expensive. The scuba is nice and swimming with the stingers its fun. If you decide to go I strongly suggest you stay at marazyl or sunrise hotel that is closer to downtown.

I believe this is one of the best hotels in San Andrés Island.

After moving around through the whole Decameron Hotels in the Island during my visit, the only one that was "comparable" in quality was Decameron "Marazul". The higher note was for Delfines, based on location and room quality. I´ve been in every class of hotel in San Andrés, and this one is for sure a hidden gem for a family vacation.

In the first floor you will find the standard rooms, good enough if you are travelling with a small party (no more than 4). My kids stayed there, while the adults stayed in the junior suite. The whole hotel circles the kind of small swimming pool.

Note: And if you are a privacy freak, first floor is not for you.

The downsides:
1. If you are looking for a high variety of meals / drinks each day, you won´t find it there. Don´t get me wrong, food quality is good, but you might find that the food menu "cycle" runs every 3 days, I believe.

2. There is a limit of 3 adults (13+ years) per room - never understood or asked why, anyway...but that might be a problem if you have a big family with very different age groups. So the lesson is: ASK before you buy!

3. Sound "insulation". Despite is very well located (30 meter walk to the beach, 30 meter walk to the shopping area, 5 meter walk to transportation services) , there are a couple of disco clubs nearby, so in the night, you might find some troubles trying to sleep. Is not THAT bad, is just that if you want absolute silence, you might have to request a room nearby the beach area.

The good:

1. Good, clean rooms.
2. Good WCs.
3. Air conditioner...that actually works... In the junior suite, you have 2 dedicated air conditioners. In the standard rooms, there is a central system...that also works! ;)
4. Good WCs.
5. Swimming pool is good, and it will let your kids take a rest from the salty water.
6. The hotel is relatively small, so it´s not crowded like Decameron Aquario or Decameron San Luis.
7. Location.
8. Next to the hotel Lord Pierre, where you may buy tourist packages for a very really good price.
9. Good, decent food. Not gourmet. Remember that you CAN go to other Decameron hotels in the island to try other food, but make sure to reserve your spot in the hotel you want to visit.
10. Friendly and FLEXIBLE staff. My flight was at 10pm, and my checkout from the hotel was at 1pm. So I talked with the receptionist and asked if i could stay a bit longer (7pm) so i didn´t have to spend the day wondering with the whole family...they let me and I´m very grateful for that. In any case, ASK before doing that, they might have to "decline" your request based on room´s demand for the day.

Final note: Try the Decameron Club de Playa, in Rocky Kay. Your kids will love the chance to go very further in the sea.

We stayed at this hotel during five days. The hotel situated at center, nearby from shopping-center and sea shore. The hotel is very silent, cozy and beautiful. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is very delicious food. The hotel has good swimming pool. Is the best hotel at isle.

We decided to reserve at this hotel reading all the reviews and we were not disappointed. This is a very nice little hotel close to downtown San Andres where you are close to the walking path along the beach. The service at front desk for check in and check out was promt and very courtious, they were always prompt to help with demands, and for tourist related questions. Everything was done in good humour and with a smile. The service at the bar was always excellent and with a smile. The pool and surroundings were always keep very clean. Really remarkable. The room was always well cleaned everyday. Again top notch. The restaurant is a A LA CARTE restaurant, the cuisine was excellent. The waiters were always smiling and would do the most to satisfy your demands. All in all this is a 3.5 star Boutique Hotel, the room was a little small to our North American Standard but nevertheless everything you needed was there. We found the bed hard but you get use to it after a couple of nights. Frankly I would recommend this hotel very highly and would certainly go back in an instant.

We loved our stay at Los Delfines! Helpful staff, clean rooms, quiet and quaint. Not overcrowded like most of the other hotels felt (we visited all of the other Decameron hotels). It was within walking distance of other restaurants and shops and very close to the beach. Our whole trip was unforgettable!

Just came back from a stay at Los Delfines. The hotel was wonderful. The room was spotless and the restaurant service and food was great. I was initially booked at the acuarium but having visited I am so glad I got moved. Much more peaceful with a lovely quiet pool area and more of a friendly feel compared to the size of acuarium. Big bonus is the great poolside bar right outside my room with friendly staff Eric and co! just teh right amaount of party. Proximity to town also a bonus.

We returned Christmas Day from San Andres.
We stayed at "Decameron Boutique Los Delfines".
We loved it. The food and the service were fabulous.
They put out a great spread on Christmas Eve.
The island is beautiful. The people are great.
The snorkling was unbelievable.
The whole "6 hotels in 1 deal" is an amazing bargain.
Duty free shopping was impressive.

I have been to Jamaica, Mexico, Venezuela, Barbados, Maurgarita Island. San Andres was by far the best "bang for my buck".
