I stayed at La Casa del Agua for 2 nights in July 2012. I would not even like to call it a hotel, it rather felt like staying at an exquisite, private luxurious villa. The renovated building with a lot of old world style and class has its own pool with a bar, a rooftop with loungers and with views over the Cathedral, very comfortable rooms with air conditioning and superb restaurant service. Every little detail is taken care of. Sandra and Angel, the owners, are originally from Barcelona, Spain, and they brought world-class Spanish cusine to their restaurant, as well as a mix of Euro-Colombian quality into designs, furnishings and service. The food is really a treat, I had trouble choosing from the menu every night - everything was delicious. Sandra went out of her way to help organize private tours, even a difficult to find helicopter flight. Incredible hospitality at a very reasonable cost. La Casa del Agua is located just across La Casa del Farol, another boutique hotel owned by Sandra and Angel, I would love to stay there as well next time.
