“Harrah's is a Fabulous Hotle and Casino!!!”
Reviewed 4 August 2009

I just returned from taking my hiusband to Harrahs in A.C. for his Birthday from July 31st till August 3rd. We had a terrific time. We have been goint to Harrahs for many years and with all the improvements and renovations that they have made in the past, we can actually say that it is the BEST Hotel and Casino!!!!
I know that Harrahs has some towers that are newer and nicer than other, The new tower of the Waterfront Tower is just so beautiful and the Waterfront Tower Suites that are any numbered 100 or 101 are just so unbelievable and Fabulous that they rival Borgata or are better!!!!
The second newest Tower is the Bayview Rooms are very Comfortable and have extremely Large Bathrooms in them with terrific Bay views!!!
The Harbor and Marina Towers are a little older, but still clean and nice!!! I can't understand all this "Negativity" Here!!!
Last, But not Least are the very Comfortable and Large Atrium Suites that are all Suites!!
The Atrium is always Bright and Sunny and the Floors of 14, 15 and 16 are super nice!!!!
My Cousin stays at Borgata, And She is a" Black Card Member"and They Do NOT even have Coffee makers or Refrigeraters in the "Waater Club" a 4 Star Hotel and She Brings her Coffee maker with her when she stays at Borgata and Harrahs has Frig's and Coffee makers in all rooms and suites with the safes for valuables and ironing Boards and Irons!! So PLEASE Give HARRAH'S some Credit here!!!!
Aslo, we went to the Grand Opening of "The POOL" on Memeorial Day 2007 and Just the Palm Trees and Greenery around the Pool cost over 1 Million Dollars and the Borgata Executives arrived to Drool and were Green with Envy!!!! This Pool Cost 30 Million Dollars!!!!
ALWAYS REMEMBER, if you stay at Borgata and want to go to the "WATER CLUB" POOLS, You CAN NOT Go!!! You must Stay at the Water Club itself!! If you stay overnight at the Borgata 5 Star Hotle you can only Got to the indoor Borgata Pool! So we you book you have to be specific where you want to stay! It is a long walk from the Water Club to just Gamble at Borgata! Remember, Water Club has no CASINO!!!
The Beter Card you possess, the Better Harrahs Treats You!!! Diamond and Platium get very good Service and 7 Stars get GREAT Rooms and Service!!!! So it is all relative to all Casinos!!!!
Also, Very Important, I know that Harrahs is away from Boardwalk, BUT there is still alot to do like the Shows are always great, the Restaurants like the Steak house and Mc Cormicks and Schmicks are just so wonderful and you can fish nearby and the Pools are very nice!! We find the Boardwalk kust too busy and congested in Summer and alot of low lifes and Homeless people comint into the casino Bathrooms to wash their hair or underwear!!!! We just do not feel that safe out there in the summer late at night! HARRAHS is Hip, Trendy, friendly, curteous and just sooo much FUN!!!! Great night Life !!!!!! There is a Free Harrahs Shuttle with Platium and Diamond Cards or Gold with the room key card!!!! The Shuttles are Clean, New and very convenient and run till late at night to return to your home Hotel! It is a Great Services!!! Take Advantage of it!!! Also, the "Red Door Spa" is the Abolute Best Spa down there in A.C. Check it out!

Parking - no problems $5.00 each trip out of the garage.
Shuttle Express to the boardwalk- Free and used it 3 times no problems with waiting or getting on. Took the jitney the 1st trip to the boardwalk it was a terrible rough ride and paid $2.50.
Rooms - We had a room in Marina Tower 14th floor it was very nice and clean.
Check in - Of course we arrived at the peak time but went to self-check in, so we waited about 20 minutes- it did not work but someone was there immediately for assistance and it was a breeze from there.
Food - The only place we ate at there was the Sub Shop and that was very good. That is besides the hot dog vendor out front by the parking garage that was lets say "dinner"!
The Pool- The advertise this as a big draw and we never got close to it. There are sparce chairs and it appears very cramped quarters. We did lay out on the sun deck for a few hours (can't gamble all the time).
The drinks - were good and the wait staff was very attentive until the last evening.
On the boardwalk - we went to Ballly's, Cesars and Showboat. Liked Cesars the best of the three. Ate at a Restaurant in Cesars Mall called Phillips Seafood - VERY Expensive. The beach - at the time was invaded by some kind of worms and mussels so it was ickey and it smelled so we did not go to the ocean at all.
We would good back to the same hotel.

If you are lucky enough to get a room or suite in the Harbor View tower, this is a pretty decent hotel overall. The rooms are spacious, with clean lines, and nice finishes. The beds are comfortable, and overall, very tidy (I had heard complaints about dirty rooms at Harrahs). The newer wing features very large and nice buffet, a glass enclosed pool area, good fitness center, Elizabeth Arden spa, and a few other restaurant options. Comparable to most 4 star lodging in Vegas. Only complaint are the staff, who are unfriendly to the point of being a bit rude. Room service is slow. Good property though overall.

We made reservations here two months before we came. The line at checkin took about 30 minutes because of all the bookings that weren't honored. Hotel policy is that they don't guarantee room type, meaning they may give you a smoking room with 2 queen size beds even if you reserve a nonsmoking room with a king size bed. This is what happened to us and everyone else in line.

When we finally went to bed around 2 am, there was a room of partiers that kept us up until 7. We made multiple complaints. Security came up multiple times but were unable to do anything. We tried getting a 2 pm late checkout so that we could sleep in and enjoy the 30.00 comp they gave us. The front desk kept putting me on hold and refused to allow me to speak to the supervisor. When I finally talked to Johanna the supervisor, she told us that 1pm was the latest they could do. Poor customer to say the least.

We stayed at Harrah's over a Sunday night to take advantage of the lower rates and avoid the Saturday crowds.
We used self-check-in, which went quickly and smoothly. Only issue is that the room choices do not say what tower they are in. We got a king room in the Bayview tower. Note that the "Bay view" part is misleading. It was more of a "valet parking view". Regardless the room was mostly soundproof and we did not hear anyone in the adjoining rooms as we had previously experienced in the Harbor Tower. The room was standard decor, but the bathroom was huge and clean, with a tub and huge stall shower and a seperate room for the toilet. The room did have a faint odor of what seemed like cleaning products but we got over it fairly quickly. The King-size bed was nice and comfortable.
We ate at the buffet; it seemed fairly expensive since I am not a big eater, but I got my money's worth in seafood. Our waitress, Edie, was very friendly and explained everything to us since it was our first time there.
My only complaints:
1. We wanted to take the shuttle to Caesar's and went out around 8:30 pm. There was a sign that the last shuttle was at 10:30. Not worth it to go over there for an hour or less.
2. The water aerobics in the pool definately gave the feeling of being on a cruise-ship, circa mid-80's. I wanted to sit in the pool and relax; the aerobics group was annoying and distracting.
3. A large majority of the customers are just plain rude; seems people of a certain age just leave their manners at home. If you want to play the slot machine I am sitting at, please ask me to move and not just reach around me to insert your card.

We stayed at Harrahs for my birthday. We checked in 7/22 & checked out 7/25. We had 2 comp nights. We had to wait in line for awhile but it was worth the wait. They upgraded our room. The express check in machines wasn't working. If you ever visit harrahs make sure you go to the indoor pool. Omg i didn't want to leave. Had a blast in the pool & they have 4 hot tubs. It was like heaven in the pool area. They have tropical trees just very relaxing. The only small problem is at night the pool turns into a nightclub so it really caters to the young crowd which can't handle their liquor. I'm thinking about taking my daughter which will be 21 next year there for her bday. She would enjoy herself in the pool & nightclub. If you are a total reward member you can ride the free shuttle or you can take the jitney bus which runs every 2-3 minutes to get to the other site where the rest of the casino's are & the boardwalk, it cost $2.25. I really enjoyed my bday there & even got engaged. They even upgraded our room for us. We stayed in the waterfront towers. Very nice. Housekeeping was excellent. Harrah's is not a bad place just not close to anything.
