We stayed for two nights before boarding a cruise to relax and make sure January weather in the US didn't delay us meeting the boat. Patricia is not here and we don't speak Spanish but have been so well taken care of by Luis and his sister that I am actually sad to be leaving here for the cruise of a lifetime.

My only issue is with the one poor rating and couple of average ones. Too bad you can't delete these, they are the ones everyone reads, no matter how old they are. I won't repeat what others have written but everything has been stellar; I wish many of the high end hotels I've stayed in were as good. If you don't get on well with Luis, you should probably do some soul searching. The location is perfect to wander town or go hiking and we have a short walk to the pier to meet our boat. We stayed on the top floor with a unique combination of privacy and awesome views of the harbor.

So thanks for a wonderful start to our vacation, hope the cruise can live up to this.

What a fantastic place to stay. Patricia and Luis were great hosts. My wife and I enjoyed every aspect of staying here....the well appointed rooms, the balcony over looking the harbour, breakfasts by Luis and the walking distance to town/snorkeling/surfing. For sure one of our favorite places!

My husband and I stayed at Casa Iguana for several nights when our holiday plans had to change after my husband was injured during a recent Galapagos trip. Casa Iguana is owned by Patricia and Luis, two incredible people. Words like warm, generous, helpful and friendly do not begin to describe how fabulous they are.

We arrived at Casa Iguana in a bit of a mess; the remainder of our trip was cancelled, we were in the hands of our insurance company to get home, and having disembarked from a boat just that morning and gone straight to the local hospital, we had no idea what was going to happen next. However our hosts could not have done more to help us. What could have been several days of hell, thanks to them, turned into several days of heaven!

The house is beautiful, completely built by Luis, a short walk up from the sea front, with lovely views out over the bay. The bedrooms could not have been more ideal for us, spacious, comfortable and immaculately clean, with those great views from the terrace. Being an easy walk from the main sea front at San Cristobal - even pushing a wheel chair - it was a perfect location for us.

Patricia and Luis are naturally kind people and they did so much for us during our stay, it would take too long to write it all down. They run an exceptional guesthouse that puts many luxury hotels we have stayed in to shame, while still making guests feel completely at home.

Casa Iguana has a very special place in our hearts. Needless to say, when we return to San Cristobal, we would not even consider staying anywhere else.

Hopefully this couple will not mind my giving public thanks in the name of our little pueblo, Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. After enduring what was later determined to be extensive and excruciating damage to his knee, they had the kindness to donate the money to buy 3 wheel chairs and 4 pairs of crutches as a gift to our hospital in thanks for the excellent care they received here. These items have already been bought and given to the hospital. Detailed and numerous changes in reservations/arrangements had to made in order for them to arrive back to their home country for surgical repair of the horrific injury. E., the no nonsense get-it-done wife in collaboration with Maria Elena Ricaurte Keegan of Galeodan managed the impossible. Luis and I were glad to have been a small part of smoothing their interrupted journey. Sincerely,
Patricia and Luis

Without a doubt, Patricia and Luis are the nicest people on the island. Maybe anywhere. We had an outstanding stay and would come back anytime we found ourselves in San Cristobal. Would and will recommend to anyone that is thinking of visiting.

The place is a marvel, especially when you consider Luis did all the work himself. The rooms are super cute and comfortable. Hot water is a little challenge but works perfectly well. Breakfast is awesome and made by Luis who also serves coffee, grown by he and Patricia and then picked, roasted, ground and brewed! Fantastic!

For both English speakers and Spanish speakers, this is a perfect locale. Patricia is from the US and also comfortable with Spanish. Luis is from Ecuador and completely fluent. You're covered! Both are knowledgeable about he islands and tours and willing to share and help with tours and decisions. We had a fantastic snorkel that was recommended and they helped us with a cruise decision. Great people!

This is the BEST lodging choice that you can make in San Cristobal. You don't have to thank me, just book it and have a great time! ;)

We were a group of 14 women who stayed with Patricia and Luis for a few days in 2009, before and after a charter sail around some of the Galapagos Islands. Everyone in the group loved the Casa Iguana Mar Y Sol. If I was to go back, I would skip the expense of a boat cruise through the islands and would base myself on San Cristobal. From here, you can go hiking, see sea lions, birds, tortoises, iguanas, go snorkelling, diving or surfing, enjoy good food and restaurants, and get a feel for the people and wildlife who co-exist in the islands.

We loved sitting up on the terrace in the breeze and looking out to sea, while listening to the sea lions talking on the beach.

This is a luxury quality experience with spacious rooms and inspired decor. Luis took us hiking through his coffee plantation and served his special brand to our group. In short, Patricia and Luis are living a great life, and are generous to share it with the world. Thanks, you two!
