Nice to see another (aside from the Charles Darwin Research Center in Puerto Ayora) tortoise reserve dedicated to breeding them and releasing them when they're big enough! Nice habitats. Free admission and guide. Worth tipping the very knowledgeable and passionate guide!

We hired a driver to take us here. I would suggest going as early as possible as there was a large group from a cruise ship when we went. The guides move you along at a steady pace so you don’t get too many people crowded into a narrow space. You must stay on the paths. We saw a number of large tortoises along the paths. There are many small ones in contained areas where they are kept safe from predators until they reach the age of seven years. You can tour the whole area in just under one hour. Don’t touch the leaves on the bushes/trees along the path as they are toxic.

There are toilets near the entrance.

Really enjoyed visiting la Galapaguera. There is no admission costs but they do recommend visitors to give a small donation to contribute to the upkeep and conservation of the place.

Our tour guide was amazing & gave us a lot of info.

It's great to see all the effort behind maintaining this impressive species. How in this place they are studying them and taking care of the little turtles until they are good to go into nature.

Nice conservation center where you can see the San Cristobal tortoise up close. We were able to see numerous tortoises during our visit. We also were able to learn more about tortoise conservation and their breeding program. You can see very young tortoises as well. Well worth the visit.
