This is the first time I traveled to Galapagos Islands, and compared to other overnight accommodation options that I noticed that were available on Santa Cruz, this place was top notch! The Diver's Lodge is a bright and inviting space with clean, simple accomodations that have ample room and are more on the lines of two-story small apartment living. Our air-conditioner was loud, but it worked well, so we were very comfortable in our bed whether it be raining or 85degrees. I didn't notice anywhere on Santa Cruz, Isabela or Floreana where you could flush toilet paper, but since recepticals are cleaned routinely, this turned out not to be as annoying/slightly revolting as it originally seemed. Clean, fresh water is a scarce resource on all of the Islands, but this facility treats their water to ensure it's cleanliness. All of the on-site staff at the lodge were very pleasant and tried very hard to accommodate any need we had. They were also very quick to forgive my poor attempts at speaking Spanish (thank you staff) and, in-turn, tried to respond in English. The street that the diver's lodge is on is a bit run-down, but after taking several walks throughout the town, most of the area except for their two main streets are pretty much run-down--so--you can't really hold this against the lodge. The location of the lodge was great for shopping at the tourist shops and it was just a short walk to the main hotel on the waterfront. The four blocks to the main hotel were not long or difficult to navigate, its just that without sidewalks the whole way, you have to make sure you do not meander too far into the road. Don't worry if you do, the traffic is light and drivers honk their horn to let you know to get out of their way. The food at the main hotel was great! No complaints with any meal - they were all flavorful, changed each day and you also had a few options to choose from at every meal. If you have a food allergy or preference, at check in, they wanted to hear about it so they could accommodate you. As it turned out, the four block walk back to the lodge became something to look forward to after each good meal. All-in-all I was very comfortable in the Diver's Lodge and the staff helped to ensure my stay was an enjoyable one. I would definately recommend the Diver's Lodge to a friend.

We booked our Galapagos honeymoon through Red Mangrove, and were pretty happy with the results. The lodges were all great, and the Diver's Lodge was a nice budget option. While this place didn't have food, it was easy to walk to to its sister hotel on the waterfront. The rooms were tidy, and actually had almost too much space, as there were just too of us and we didn't need a room with 3 beds. On our first day there, there was a leak in the bathroom, but we let the front desk know and the fixed it right away. Overall, and great stay and would definitely recommend.

This hotel does have a spectacular location, right on one of the most gorgeous beaches you will ever encounter. We stayed in the "divers lodge" connected to the hotel and had a room with gigantic windows overlooking the beach. Unfortunately, the room itself was problematic. We never had any hot water, the a/c did not work in one room and the toilets in one room worked OK and did not work at all in the other room. We had one excellent meal (a bbq) and one poor meal. We were a family traveling by ourselves and felt overwhelmed by big groups, a different one each evening.

I went to the Galapagos for the first time and choose Red Mangrove as thr tour company to use given the reports on Trip Advisor. I could not be more pleased. the rooms were all well appointed with comfortable beds. The staff very friendly and professional and the tours were well organied and executed. This is a good outfit!

only downside was when you left the Island of Santa cruz, teh other two hotel / customer service managers did not seem to have authority to make any change to the schedule - which due to weather / sea conditions do need to change. They needed some prodding before then calling the main lodge on Santa Cruz. It might make sense fo rthem to review the tide charts before scheduling snorkeling activities.

however, this was a minor, improvement and a truly grand experience. I would recommend them completely

Wow, what a surprise to get such value for the money! It's not on the water like it's sister, the Red Mangrove Inn, but you can go there and borrow - for free - snorkeling gear. Clean room, super comfortable and huge! There was a little kitchenette, too. It's only two quick blocks off the main street where all the restaurants and shops are. My room on the third floor had a great view! The only negatives are, the breakfast area is super tiny which can be awkward, and there is nearby construction and they start working very early. I'll be back!

Room Tip: The pool is only a tiny cocktail pool outside the front office, enough to put your feet in.

Our group of six stayed in three rooms here on June 30, 2012. We found all three rooms to be very spacious, clean, & comfortable. My wife and I stayed in the "Gaviota" room which we found to have four levels, a small kitchen, sitting area, and four beds. The staff was attentive to our needs. Breakfast was served at the Divers Lodge, while the other meals were offered at Red Mangrove's waterfront lodge in Santa Cruz, about three blocks away. An excellent value.
