I think you can enjoy it a lot more if you go with someone that can tell you about the tortoises than just going there on your own to see them.
Now there are *lots* of them. They were all walking and moving around freely. Some of the tortoises are very old (over 200 years old) and they still move around a fair bit!
You cannot touch them but you can get quite close (2 meters). After you see them, you can have lunch at the place. They also harvest their own Galapagos organic coffee. It's quite a nice one too.
