We almost booked another hotel, thank God we didn't! The Angermeyer is a dream. Amazing rooms, very personable and kind staff, excellent breakfast (included in the room price too!). They provide wonderful service, know your names and know exactly what you want. You can see sea lions, turtles, sharks, finches, pelicans and more from the terrace! Wonderful experience and would come back in a heartbeat.

I read a lot of reviews before deciding on a place to stay on Santa Cruz island. Many of the reviews for the Angermeyer said to go for the upgraded room, so we did. We were very pleased with the room we received. Unfortunately we woke from a nap to a huge puddle on the beautiful wood floor from the air conditioner. I went to the front desk and they immediately moved us to an even nicer room with a better view. I have to say that even with that small mishap we really enjoyed our short stay. I really wish we had more time to stay here. After walking around the grounds I think even a non-upgraded room would be fine, it just wouldn't have the view.
The staff was wonderful from the first moment off the water taxi, they were very accommodating and made every effort to get us into our room early so we could take a nap. The water front dining is great and I actually like that it takes a water taxi to get to this place, makes it feel a bit more secluded and away from the busy town of Puerto Ayora, even though it's only about 100 yards away.
If you go take some time to walk around the place, it reminds me of a Disneyland theme park, there seem to be multiple paths to get to each area, but all are done really nicely.
We would definitely return to the Angermeyer and would hope to have more time to enjoy it next time. Thank you to the staff for making our short stay enjoyable!!!

Room Tip: Spend the extra $$ for a superior room, the views are fantastic and the rooms are spacious.

Do not stay in the Penguin room!!!!! No air conditioning and the fan is very noisy and has no remote control like all the other rooms. They will not tell you this either. The room is stiffing hot, and if you open the windows (which you must if you expect to live), you will hear the kitchen staff at 5:46 am every morning. Plus the hotel tried to charge us $557 for incidentals when the charge was actually $157 and I had to argue with them, while one staff person insisted on getting the receipts, when the computer clearly showed the lower price. How many people just paid the higher price without realizing it? Otherwise this is a beautiful hotel. Too bad we didn't get to enjoy it because we were so pissed off.

We had the privilege of staying 4 nights at this hotel. The staff was kind and attentive. We were welcomed off the dock with a drink and escorted to our room, Southern Cross. The room was huge and beautiful. The view overlooking the harbor was amazing. The breakfast was very good and cooked to order. We ate dinner at the hotel 2 nights and the food was excellent. I can not say enough about this hotel. It is well worth the money.

Room Tip: Southern Cross was fabulous and had a great view.

From the moment we arrived at the reception Cristian welcomed us with a big smile. Cristian is very professional and helpful, so is the staff of this hotel located in the most amazing part of the island. The restaurant and the room we stayed in have a beautiful view on the ocean and you can just look out the window or have your diner on the balcony of your room while the huge birds dive into the ocean and fish right in front your eyes. Sea lions are dancing in the water, this place is just magical, i would recommend it to anybody in my family and next time i visit the Galapagos, i will stay there again without hesitating. Thank you Cristian and the Angermeyer staff, for making our vacation in Galapagos greater than it could ve been on a boat or somewhere else.

Room Tip: Pick a room with a view, it is 100% worth it.

The owners have put much care and attention into building an excellent inn. The attention to the details inside the rooms was outstanding. We stayed in the huge Ocean Breeze room which had an unparalleled view of the bay. The restaurant area at the waterfront offered nice views of the harbor.

Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner (although we didn't know it) who turned us over to a very friendly staff. We were a large group and the staff seemed to have trouble getting the right luggage to the right rooms. Also, the rooms vary in size, view and quality. We were a large group and we had all paid the same price but some were in nicer rooms than others.

The food was absolutely delicious. We enjoyed one dinner and two breakfasts.

This hotel is accessible only by water taxi. This could be annoying or charming, depending on how you look at at.

This was our last stop on the Galapagos tour. The whole week our guide had talked about how there was no crime on the islands so I thought it was odd that this hotel had video surveillance all around. On our first night there, I left my shirt on the patio and went in the room to shower. When I returned, it wasn't there. The security staff was able to queue up the video and learn that a stray dog had taken it. So, somewhere on Santa Cruz island, there is a stray dog, sporting an LL Bean surf shirt. If you see him, you'll know what happened. But just in case, don't leave your clothes lying around on the patio.
