After my latest stay at Galapagos I have to say there is not much wrong you can find with the Angermeyer. The service is impeccable. Its a quick five minute ride from the puerto agora pier but literally 5 minutes or less and you don't have to wait for the water taxi long at all. They are always there waiting. The location is beautiful and I would think it has the best view of all the hotels in Santa Cruz. When you get off the pier the hotel is literally there they immediately help you with your luggage and give you a beverage to drink and take care of your check in. No hassles no waiting very accommodating. We stayed in the Orion awesome room beautiful view. Could not ask for more. The hotel itself has a very interesting history it was built on a cave. Its impeccably clean, and very well maintained. You will be able to see sea lions and pelicans crabs finches right from the restaurant. Even if you don't stay at the angermeyer be sure to visit their restaurant for a peaceful meal on the water. If you are looking for a relaxing place to get away from it all. This is it.

Room Tip: The Orion room was beautiful and had beautiful views.

This was the last hotel we stayed at on our 9 day Galapagos tour and it was the best! It is absolutely gorgeous in all respects. Our room was awesome - spotlessly clean, good sized, beautifully appointed. The open air dining area looks out over the ocean and is delightful. The service was outstanding and the staff friendly and helpful. To get to town and activities you take a very short water taxi ride. This keeps the hotel quiet and peaceful. We were only able to stay one night at this lovely hotel and wish we could have stayed longer. Two thumbs way up for a wonderful hotel.

We almost booked another hotel, thank God we didn't! The Angermeyer is a dream. Amazing rooms, very personable and kind staff, excellent breakfast (included in the room price too!). They provide wonderful service, know your names and know exactly what you want. You can see sea lions, turtles, sharks, finches, pelicans and more from the terrace! Wonderful experience and would come back in a heartbeat.

I read a lot of reviews before deciding on a place to stay on Santa Cruz island. Many of the reviews for the Angermeyer said to go for the upgraded room, so we did. We were very pleased with the room we received. Unfortunately we woke from a nap to a huge puddle on the beautiful wood floor from the air conditioner. I went to the front desk and they immediately moved us to an even nicer room with a better view. I have to say that even with that small mishap we really enjoyed our short stay. I really wish we had more time to stay here. After walking around the grounds I think even a non-upgraded room would be fine, it just wouldn't have the view.
The staff was wonderful from the first moment off the water taxi, they were very accommodating and made every effort to get us into our room early so we could take a nap. The water front dining is great and I actually like that it takes a water taxi to get to this place, makes it feel a bit more secluded and away from the busy town of Puerto Ayora, even though it's only about 100 yards away.
If you go take some time to walk around the place, it reminds me of a Disneyland theme park, there seem to be multiple paths to get to each area, but all are done really nicely.
We would definitely return to the Angermeyer and would hope to have more time to enjoy it next time. Thank you to the staff for making our short stay enjoyable!!!

Room Tip: Spend the extra $$ for a superior room, the views are fantastic and the rooms are spacious.

Do not stay in the Penguin room!!!!! No air conditioning and the fan is very noisy and has no remote control like all the other rooms. They will not tell you this either. The room is stiffing hot, and if you open the windows (which you must if you expect to live), you will hear the kitchen staff at 5:46 am every morning. Plus the hotel tried to charge us $557 for incidentals when the charge was actually $157 and I had to argue with them, while one staff person insisted on getting the receipts, when the computer clearly showed the lower price. How many people just paid the higher price without realizing it? Otherwise this is a beautiful hotel. Too bad we didn't get to enjoy it because we were so pissed off.
