We stayed three nights at the Hotel Ninfa in mid April. The staff was helpful, the pool was great for the teenagers, and the location is convenient. The rooms varied widely, from very nice remodeled rooms, some with air conditioners, to small and dingy rooms, one with the sink pulled out from the wall, roaches under the beds, and a hole in the wall where the air conditioner used to be. The dining room served good food, but the manager rationed the portions out in tiny amounts, and would not give up second helpings to hungry people.

We stayed at this hotel during a school tour I was running. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. The students enjoyed the pool and the gate locked at night to see who was entering the leaving the area. The food in the restaurant was acceptable and we had access to a 5 gallon water cooler to fill our water bottles.

My friend's aunt who is from Ecuador got us a great rate for 3 nights. Included in our fees were rooms, a few tours and breakfast.

Rooms: The rooms were clean, but the shower plumbing was somewhat clogged and water pressure was inconsistent. It didn't bother us too much so we didn't do anything about it.

Staff: They were helpful and nice, including the dining and tour staff.

Location: It's around the corner from the post office so you can send your postcards ($3 per stamp), the water taxis and bunch of tour shops where you book your activities if you're looking for diving, etc.

Tours: We took a Ninfa tour to Floreana for one of the days and for the most part it was good, but in the end, I think they could've done a better job in finding us a better snorkeling spot. I think the day was getting short so the tour guide took us to what felt like a random spot. We didn't see a lot of animals, which could've been out of their control, but from my research, Floreana is known for great snorkeling. After talking to some other travelers on different tours, it seemed strange that we didn't see much for that snorkeling trip.

Overall, my stay was great but I might consider a different tour agency.

I booked this for my parent's trip to Galapagos because I would be working and wanted a place with a good location. My parents are in their 70's and speak no Spanish. The staff was amazing to them. Their suggestions for activities were exactly what my folks wanted. The rooms were clean and modern. The location is steps from the center of town, restaurants, and shopping. They even re-opened for breakfast for us because we all overslept the first morning.

We stayed in over 50 hotels and guesthouses over the past year. Ninfa rates last in our experiences. The staff is unfriendly to downright nasty, excluding the dining room staff, who are very nice. The rooms are moldy (we had 4 rooms, each of which suffered from mildew stench and visible mold). There is construction going on, so things are noisy as well. For a much cheaper hotel with cleaner rooms and friendlier staff (but no food or pool) try the better located Sir Francis Drake.

Great location. Looks nice with courtyard, pool, pool table. Free breakfast daily and the food workers were very cordial. Check out your room beforehand. Smallest bathroom ever and felt like crackden. People were helpful though.

Was on a business trip in October 2012 and stayed in the newer portion of the hotel, which they called a suite. The nightly rate was about $ 135 + tax. The room was on the second floor, no elevator. It had rained slightly so the steps up were very wet and a little slippery. Had to carry my suitcase up the two flights of stairs. The room was very clean and modern looking. Two queen beds, white tile floors, newly tiled bathroom with glass doors, hot water & clean towels, A/C, large closet and a small balcony facing the pool in the center of the property. Flat screen TV and a phone in the room. If you open the front door and the balcony door, you get a great cross breeze. Hotel is walking distance to the pier area where most of the restaurants and shops are.

Room Tip: Try and stay in the modern part of the hotel, not the older rooms. Worth the hike up the stairs.
