Some of the rooms are very small. Most look out on a porch and a lovely garden with many hammocks. Many of the patrons seemed to like to lie around in the garden and read. The location is perfect for tourists, and not noisy though it is on the main street. The older members of the staff are very friendly and helpful. The some of the younger members of the staff are not professional, and would rather play on their computers than help you. We found the rooms clean and the bathrooms small but well maintained. The water pressure was good. The air conditioners worked and were not too noisy, but there are strange mechanical sounds in this hotel which would disturb some people although we did not find this a problem.

I echo the previous positive reviews We had an excellent experience at La Pelegrina. The location is perfect, right on the main drag. It was not loud at all, contrary to other reviews. The rooms were clean and spacious, the staff helpful. Lots of hammocks and swing chairs to relax in! Finally, you can't beat the price, $56 for a double room including tax, tips, and breakfast! Only one downside, which was that the advertised wireless internet seemed to work only in the main office, definitely not in the rooms.

We completed our tour of the Galapagos on Porta Ayora, and I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel which we booked the day of our arrival at the port. This hotel is perfectly situated on one of the main drags of shops and restaurants, and keep in mind that although we paid only about 50 USD per night, it was next door to more than one hotel that charged over 200 per night.

The keepers of this bed and breakfast were really warm and friendly, and always kept all the rooms spotless as well as the surrounding courtyard. the property is covered with foliage which, during the hot mid-afternoons, makes for a perfect solace, particularly if you enjoy resting in a hammock which there are plenty of.

The rooms were basic but did include hot water and a really nice air conditioner in every room. The only downside is that our room consisted of two twin beds instead of a queen - but that was more our fault for not booking in advance.

I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone staying in Porta Ayora and needing a convenient launch point to explore the island or the Galapagos.

Bad managment, rude staff, check out time 9:30 am. You loose your breakfast if show up one minute after 9 am. No knowledge of hospitality basics and Customer service at all. If you are on your own and they have a 4 beds room free they will charge you by four. Same history in other Galapagos hostels. Too expensive for what you get.

Conveniently located is the only good thing about this hotel. The room was clean but all the walls were badly soiled, the lights did not work, the room leaked when it rained during the night, the noise from the rain on the roof woke all of us up many times duirng the night, the room leaked and the internet was intermittent. The reception disappears after 7pm so if you have a problem you need to wait until the morning! Only two towels for a family of four and the towels were tiny! There is no where to hang clothes.
The breakfast was good considering the relatively good price compared to better establishments. We booked for 5 nights but left after the first night. Found a greatly superior hotel by just negotiating at the reception.

We definitely do not recommend this place (despite the clean rooms, central location, friendly owners and good breakfast): for the following reasons:
1. tiny rooms - you can hardly find a place for you luggage;
2. more important - disturbing noise all night long. We could not identify the sourse of the noise, but it sounded like a wasching maschine running all night in our room. It stopped for five minutesevery half an hour and then it started again. We have asked the owners the next morning about the source of the noise but they pretended not to know what it is.
After a sleepless night we checked out one day earlier than we had planned to.

I stayed at this perfect BnB in Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz Island Galapagos for about $55 per night with breakfast included. It is very comfortable and clean and the grounds are very pleasant. The walls seemed nearly soundproof. The building has very large comfortable porches with tables and chairs. The rooms are simple and small but there are "living room" areas to relax. They currently have about 10 bedrooms all with private baths but plan to add several more in a new building.

They also offer laundry service but it seemed a little expensive but VERY convenient. The also sell bottled drinks at low prices. It is right on Charles Darwin Avenue and you can walk to the Charles Darwin center from here in about 10 miinutes. Taxi are convenient less than 20 steps away.

It is centrally located and accessible to many eating places and stores. The owners are so nice. Across the street is Pelican Bay and you can walk up Charles Binford Avenue to the open air Kioskos for restaurants that serve great fresh fish and fresh BBQ meats at bargain prices.
