We came here this summer after not having been here for a few years. There was always a line of people waiting to get in but this time we were able to be seated right away.
The quality of the food was not as good as I remembered, and we had to send back his dinner because it was not as advertised on the menu. They did give him another meal but it took a while.
Will probably not go back.

Very high prices for average tasting food. Servers not very pleasant. Slow service. Noisy. Do not recommend. You can get better Italian food at other places at less cost.

Visited Via Mare in Avalon with family. Have visited before and will visit again. Food very good, portions nice sized. Very expensive however. Service can be good, or like on this most recent visit, quite "cold". Can be very crowded and loud, tables very close together. Have visited many times over the years and consider it a good choice. Do not expect to linger though, have always felt rushed to leave at meals end.....certainly not like in Italy where you can enjoy the evening at a restaurant.! all in all, expect great food and not much more.

If you don't mind stained ceilings, boring interior design, wimpy salad, overpriced entrees, blaring Italian opera music, and customers who are so loud and self-important you feel like you are in a diner after the bars close this place is for you. I guess some people believe that anyone within 27 feet or so must listen to every word they say (and like it).
Nothing in this place makes you feel like you are in a beach town. No view.
