Fishin' Pier Grille
Ranked #5 of 67 Restaurants in Avalon
Certificate of Excellence
Cuisines: Seafood
Description: Rick and Sue's adventure on 7 Mile Island began 27 years ago when they took over the Fishin' Pier Grille located on 32nd Street in Avalon. The husband and wife duo's love affair with restaurants still runs strong after all these years as they continuously enjoy seeing the familiar faces of returning customers as well as the new comers each summer. Rick and Sue's grown children, Nicole Jones and Eric Montanari, are happily joining their parents in this new adventure of opening the Fishin' Pier Grille South in Stone Harbor this upcoming Spring. The family is looking forward to bringing the same reputation of great taste, service, and charm to their new breakfast spot.

If you are a resident, a weekend resident or down for vacation, the Fishin Pier is the place in Avalon to have breakfast. Food is consistantly good - always served promply and with a smile by one of the summef help girls - I always get a kick of the "Yearly funny questions asked" white board - when asked "where is a good place to have breakfast"? My first reply is slways -" Fishin Piet Grill"

We did not have to wait long to be seated or served. Small dining area so your wait time really could vary. We had 3 adults and 6 children and our entire dining experience went smoothly. We tried blueberry pancakes, banana blueberry French toast, scrambled eggs, hash browns, a fruit cup, fresh squeezed orange juice and a cheese omelet. All great. High honors to the French toast. Fruit cup was loaded with season fruits. Tons of choices and all 6 children were happy.

We did breakfast here on a Saturday but we should have gotten there earlier. It was packed by 10:00 am and we had a 40 minute wait. We walked the boardwalk and took in the beach sights and the time passed fairly quickly. It was worth the wait. The pancakes were great and the sausage was fabulous. They take cash only, so make sure you bring $10 to $12 a person and eat a nice big meal.

Most of the food looked great, but I made the mistake of ordering the blueberry-banana french toast. This french toast seemed like it was made with cake, not bread. I didn't like it, and it was heavier and sweeter than I expected.

Had seen this place on trip advisor so when we went down on vacation, we tried it for breakfast. Liked it so much, we went twice. The pancakes are as big as the entire plate. My husband has two different omlets but he liked the one with the jalapeno peppers best. It is a little, quaint place-seems to be family owned. A little pricey but will definitely go back the next time we are on vacation. Unfortunately, when we went, it was raining because it is located on a boardwalk which would be great for a nice walk.
