Owner description: The Sound and Light show at Abu Simbel will transport you to the time of the pharaohs. Enchanting you with melodious music, and bringing the ancient world to life around you, the show includes projections onto the temples showing how they once looked. The program is presented in a number of languages with the provision of ear pieces. It is an experience not to be missed, one that will make your visit to Abu Simbel the memory of a lifetime.

Sound quality was excellent, lighting effects very well-done and modern. The story line was silly, but it's all part of the experience. The sun sets during the six o'clock show, so the stars come out while you're watching. We enjoyed it.

The Son et Lumiere at Karnak and this one are really very good and entertaining. Bring warm clothes in the winter, it is chilly.

We are both a little sceptical about sound and light shows as we consider it's rather sacrilegious to stick lamps all over historical monuments and this was the first one we have seen. As it was included as part of our Lake Nasser cruise we went along the rest of the passengers.
To say we were pleasantly surprised is an understatement -it was very informative and entertaining. The majority of the audience were Italians so the main commentary was in Italian & we listened to the English commentary through headphones which worked perfectly.
It was an amazing spectacle & well worth seeing.

Sure sound and light shows are a bit cheesy. But honestly, I really enjoyed this one. The story was entertaining and the effects were pretty. And it was worth it to sit under the stars on a warm night, admiring the temple and the tranquility of the space. My friend and I were also lucky to be among the very few tourists there. It almost felt like we had the space all to ourselves. There's not much else to do in Abu Simbel at night, so check out the show and enjoy the break from the vendors and the sun.
