We chose the huts to stay in. It's the only place right in front of the beach. It's the perfect place to relax in tiny groups (cook on your own and serve yourselves), read a book and chill 'quietly' at night. (Owners won't like it if people were loud)
The ones who will settle for Basata Eco lodge are definitely going for Backpacking, Eco lodge and sustainability in Sinai. Everything over there is made from nature and for nature in the bedding and furnishing, literally everything. Even Service! You will get to cook your own food in the kitchen, save water and clean your own huts (at least we got to stay in huts but there are other lodging you'll pay extra for) It all depends on social responsibility and befriending nature.
I appreciated a lot that the owner, Sherif, who gets to meet everyone in person to explain his vision of social responsibility, heritage of bedouins, and Eco-friendliness and see if we needed anything and suggest even more things to do. You'll learn a lot about the place, the people and how to consider and understand those who are around through gathering around in the lounge area.
Huts are quite nice, just make sure to bring your own sleeping back, a flashlight and covers for you might not get comfortable on the coverings available.
There are a lot of rules and regulations, like no liquor is sold or offered. but i guess that's just because its a place that wants to keep its value of Eco-lodging. Also you'll have to consume things of the kitchen, there's a minimum charge daily. I think some meals are offered like fish and pastry within the kitchen area. There are stoves, kettles and fridge to enjoy serving yourselves.
