We stayed at the Miami Beach for one night after climbing Mount Sinai, en route to Ras Mohammed. This hotel could - and should - have been idyllic: whitewashed buildings, with balconies overlooking the pool or out to sea, its own private beach...
However, in reality the hotel was run down. The bathroom smelt strongly of sewage, the towels were tiny, grubby and ripped, and the shower curtain aided rather than prevented the shower flooding the bathroom every time we used it. I didn't mind the hard bed, but my other half found it hard to sleep on what I admit was a very unforgiving matress. The private beach also seemed neglected, with a pile of rubbish behind the bedouin bar, and glass bottles strewn along the boundary. I didn't eat much at breakfast due to the flies that were crawling all over it.
With a little TLC, the rooms could have been so much better, and it would have taken only a short time to tidy up the beach. To be fair to the staff, we found them to be courteous and friendly. However, more care needed to be taken to make this a nice place to stay.
