“brilliant snorkling, fantastic people, good hotel.”
Reviewed 14 August 2010

A holiday is what you make of it. The Sea Sun hotel is a fantastic hotel to stay in. its is built on a private beach. The other familys and couples staying at the hotel were very very friendly due to the hotel being quite small. The Pool is lovely, The Sea is amazing, my first time at snorkeling, now i have a taste for it, swimming with amazing fish! I found NEMO. The resort is a bit out of the way, but if your looking for a relaxing break this is the place to go, away the from the hustle and bustle of Sharm el Sheike. If I had any critiscim, !! it would be that the food is a bit repetitive,The hotel is short staffed so the exisitng staff are working 16hours shifts which means their patience wears a little thin at times. Just a few names I would like you all to remember: Ramadan the Camel owner (bedouin), what a lovely guy, you must go with him to the Blue Hole by camel, he looks after you very well, he shaparones you whilst snorkling and he swims like a fish. Osama the pool guy, trys his hardest to make sure everyone has a sun bed, but there is no pleasing everybody. Bridgette the Hotel manager trys her best to make sure you have a pleasant stay. A big thankyou to Essa the Room Cleaner, he made love hearts, animals and even a crocodile out of our towels, he gave us clean towels everyday, everytime i saw him he was smiling. I tipped him 150 Egyptian pounds, he deserves it. (Bridgette if you read this please tell him I mentioned him on this site, thankyou) . TIPS: Dont pay anymore than 25 egptian pounds from Dahab Town to the Hotel in a taxi. If you haggle in the shops try to cut the price by half. Buy drinks and food for your fridge from Gazela Market Superstore in Dahab town, very cheap there. Go to Ali Baba restaurant for a meal. Buy one cocktail get one free at the Yalla Bar in Town, also shisa pipes there are very cheap at 50p per pipe. (the hotel charge £2 per pipe, so a bargain). Have a nice time.

When we arrived at the hotel, we thought hmmmm lets give it a go and see what happens. dont think this was a 4 star hotel, but the stay was very pleasant. The staff were very friendly, food was excellent so no complaints there.
the hotel is situated right on the red sea, so scuba diving and snorkeling to your heart content. after the 2 weeks we stayed we,ve already booked for next year, me and the wife can't wait for it

After being greeted personally by Bridgitt, the hotel manager, my daughter and I were shown to our lovely room with a gorgeous view of the sea and the pool. The room was cleaned every day, and towels changed daily. I could not fault the cleanliness and the housekeepers. On any occasions that we had a problem with the room, it was rectified within the hour, after consulting Bridgitt!
Huge clean beach towels were provided daily, and they were taken to the beach or pool sun-beds for you! The beach and swimming pool were peaceful and quiet, not very many people around so you got your own private space! The staff made sure that your drinks were never empty during the day and night.
All of the staff were excellent! They would entertain us, take us out, make us laugh, we had never experienced such warm friendly people anywhere like we did at this hotel! Nour, Omar, Abdou, Max and Sam were amazing! The entertainment was wonderful, Charlie the animation guy was full of energy and made us laugh, telling us stories and teaching us to dance in the English bar! Make sure you get a camel ride and a sheesha from Ramadan the Camel man....he will also take you for a hike up the mountain...but don't wear flip-flops like I did!
Location was great, peaceful, but near enough to get to one of the worlds greatest places to dive, the blue hole, and close to the town which is absolutely stunning!
This hotel works because of the new management, Bridgitt is trying her very best to improve this hotel all the time, we saw her everyday motivating staff. She is a wondeful asset to the hotel owners!
Thank you everyone at the Sea Sun!!! We will be back....Nour, get those pina coladas ready please!

the minute we arrived at the sea sun hotel we felt welcomed and looked after, drinks on arrival (very handy after a precarious taxi journey from sharm airport). you are looked after from the minute you arrive until sadly you ahve to leave. the staff cannot do enough dinks are constantly topped up, sam the barman will even remeber what yo drink and ahve ir poured before you get to the bar (makes an excellent egyptian cup of tea). the waiters are kind friendly and very proffessional, I did suffer pharoah revenge whilst i was there and couldnt really eat but the chefs were amaxing offering me light didshes and recommending herbal drinks to calm my stomach. My husband enjoyed the snorkrlling the beaches really are paradise, the sea is amazing with lots of fish and coral reefs, Dahab is a very cultured town with the odd haggler harrassing you but if you just ignore them they will stop. we were offered many times to sit and have tea with a few of the locals but bthe little shops just draw you in. we will def be back next year as we feel a aprt fo their family and have met a few friends we would def keep in touch with. a fanatastic hioliday expereince.

This hotel is greatly underestimated, the staff are outstanding, nothing is too much trouble for them. Brigitte the hotel manager is simply one of the best! her attitude to complete cutomer satisfaction is outstanding. We arrived at the Sea Sun early hours of the morning to be offered an eving meal and drinks, we were taken to our beautifull room overlooking the beach and sea and woke to a beautifull day and freshly cooked breakfast. Plenty of food on offer and lots of choice, the head chef can't do enough for you. The restaurant is air conditioned and very welcoming, lunch and evening dinner was served promptly and the waitor service was fantastic.
Our rooms were cleaned daily with fresh linen and towels. Plenty of hot water and beautiful displays on the bed for our return.
Norr and Samy were wonderful, your glass was never empty! very attentive and very professional.
Maxx and Alla give the best massages and I would recommend booking a session, they are proffesional at their jobs and very informative.
Beack towels were available daily and the gentleman would even take them to the beach for you and set out your beds.
Charlie the entertainment kept you busy all day, aqua in the pool, dance lessons and evening entertainment in the upstairs bar. He is certainly a character, commited to his job and always looking for something to keep his guests entertained.
If you are looking to book a trip, go and see Ramadan or Wael, Ramadan is the resident Bedouin, helpful and very funny, he has 2 camels and will gladly take you on a camel ride down the beach. Wael will book you a glass bottom boat trip to see the beautiful corals and colourfull fish.
We met some fantastic people at the Sea Sun and didn't just feel like another guest, we felt like one of the family and will def be back soon. A massive thank you to all who made our holiday one to remember.

This was by far the greatest holiday ever...the hotel and the staff were solely responsible for this! The staff could not do enough for you. The animation team, which was just a guy called Charlie, was enthusiastic, clever, funny and made sure you were always having a fantastic time! The chefs made amazing food and if you weren't satisfied with anything at the buffet they would go and make something to suit your tastes there and then. They'd make you something at any time of the day...if you fancy a burger and chips at 4am...they will do it! The bar staff are like nothing I've ever experienced, Nour, Omar, Abdou and Sam were our favourites, and became great friends toward the end. They are all extremely clever and sometimes you wonder why they are serving us drinks! I will never forget any of the staff! As for the management...Brigitte, was fantastic. If you weren't happy with something, you can just tell her and it will be sorted within the hour!

As for the hotel surroundings, it was beautiful, quiet, peaceful and idyllic. Superb for snorkeling or diving, the sights you see are out of this world...right on your doorstep! To get into Dahab town there is a free shuttle bus from outside the hotel..one in the afternoon, one in the evening. It is absolutely beautiful, and are not pestered like in other parts of Egypt I have been to.

It was that good, I would go back there tomorrow if I could, I made friends for life and laughed like I've never laughed before. I would recommend this hotel to anyone lucky enough to go!

Thanks so much for a wonderful holiday Habibi's!!! See you all soon!

Freindly helpful staff .. Good food but can be repetative ..Close to the beach, its a 15min taxi/ bus ride into Dahab town centre and a 1hr 15mins taxi ride into Sharm El Sheik .. Down side constant harrassment from shopkeepers in Dahab Town Centre, they seem to think because you are a Tourist you have loads of money and they can rip you off . Haggling is the name of the game! Excellent affordable fish restaurants in Dehab.
