“Amazing place!”
Reviewed 25 September 2009

This is the most amazing place we have ever stayed. We spent a fortnight at the hotel at the beginning of August and loved it. The hotel is out of the way, so if you like to be right in the thick of it this isnt the place for you, but this suited me and my boyfriend perfectly. The staff were amazing and really made the holiday. A special thanks to Mohammed who we adored! He made the holiday with his friendly and welcoming manner. We also thought Mina was great and couldnt do enough for us.
The pools are great and the house reef was out of this world. The beach is not a has no sand more gravel but the snorkelling was ace.
The food in the restaurants was varied and tasy and the chefs were really helpful too. Overall this is an amazing place and one we cant wait to return to.

Myself and my partner stayed at happy Life between 2nd – 16th July 09 and found it to be a fantastic resort. The complex is huge with three swimming pool and decorative gardens running alongside mountains which lead down to a private beach. Very pretty.

When we arrived our bags were taken to our room by a helpful porter who showed us where everything was and made sure we were comfortable. All the apartments face the sea so have a good view but as ours was in the middle of the complex we had a lovely pool view with an ocean back drop. The room itself was very spacious and airy with a TV, fridge, safe and very good air con. All rooms have a good size terrace or balcony.

The hotel has two restaurants, The Love Boat (shaped like a boat!) for breakfast and dinner and an older restaurant for lunch. The food was always lovely with a good selection – fresh omelets and pancakes made to order at breakfast and themed nights such as a fresh fish platters cooked to order and BBQ’s at dinner. Afternoon tea was also served at the pool bar each day with pastries and cakes available. There are four bars across the complex, two pool bars, an English themed bar and “Bedouin tend” on the beach where evening shows are put on. All the waiting/bar staff were great (especially Mohammed), always on hand to bring over a drink should you be nearing the bottom of a glass or to clear away used plates etc. All pool and bar guys were also fantastic, really attentive and very friendly always stopping to have a chat with you.
Even though Happy Life is very secluded there is plenty to do. The on site dive centre (Orca) is very professional and offers daily diving and snorkeling trips to various points of interest (we visited the Blue Hole to snorkel on one occasion which I would really recommend) and you can also hire diving or snorkeling equipment to explore the “house reef” located on the shore at Happy Life – well worth a look, some amazing fish and coral. We also went on an excursion to Mount Sinai though our tour company which is another trip not to be missed.

We took advantage of the shuttle bus run by the hotel to visit Dahab centre a few times throughout our trip. I would recommend visiting in the evening rather than the day as this was when the town came to life. Dahab itself is quiet and sleepy and very relaxed. I loved its hippy feel.

I really would highly recommend this hotel; I really couldn’t fault it and would definitely return there. A wonderful relaxing two weeks.

Simply beautiful - Happy Life Village should have a 5 Star rating it is amazing. We were so lucky to have found such a lovely corner of the world and do travel 3 times a year. This holiday was just so special as the hotel and scenery were amazing.

The Staff throughout the hotel from Management down were the most professional and courteous we have ever experienced they did everything possible towards a brilliant holiday and we cannot write highly enough to commend their efforts. They were just lovely.

The hotel was beautiful, well spaced with lovely gardens, pools etc., the room was spacious, very clean (cleaned daily) great air conditioning and the view from the room simply stunning. No photo of the scenery or the hotel would do it justice.

The food served throughout the hotel was lovely and varied. Each day we had different meals and there was nothing that was not available. The Restuarant Staff could not do enough to ensure that each guest was taken care of - they were amazing from Management to the Waiters - the Restuarant Manager Mohammad was a true gentleman and so professional -

We loved this hotel and location so much we cancelled our original planned holiday to enable us to return in September 09.

The snorkelling is a must - the most beautiful sights and plenty of trips available. We would like to visit Luxor 'The Valley of the Kings' during our stay.

A brilliant Hotel/Staff/Food and location!!

The holiday with the perfect host Mohammed and his wonderful staff.Having read many reviews, we totally agree with all the comments written and would like to add a few more.
Mohammed the resturant manger set us a bit of homework each day to learn some egyptian words ,and before we left we were stringing small sentances together, which made mohammed`s beaming smile even brighter ! This hotel could not be faulted and our return date should not be long coming WHAT VALUE FOR MONEY.We meet a lovely couple from Stoke Jackie and John who we spent some quality evenings with thanks to you both from Jan and Chas.

What an amazing holiday we had here ...
Booked this holiday after reading the other reviews wrote here on trip advisor , and i must say that when we arrived at the hotel , we thought , oh god what have we done , the hotel looks a bit like a building site at the back end , but believe me , that couldnt be further from the truth after we found such a warm welcome unlike any we have had even from 5 star hotels..
Our room was no palace but the shower was strong , and room was cleaned every day ...
The first night we arrived at around 8pm , in time for evening meal , thats when our holiday began . Such a warm welcome greeted us from all the staff in the restaraunt , especially Mohammed , who couldnt do enough for us ..
I have got to say that my partner is the fussiest eater i have ever known , but he could not find fault with the food , which is really delicious .. especially the battered fish , and we are not fish lovers , but it melts in your mouth..There was a different choice every night almost , from chips , potatoes done a variety of ways , and different meat choices . Thats not counting the bbq night , and sea food night , all cooked fresh in front of you ..
I dont like sea food , so Mohammed offered to cook me something special ..
The deserts were to die for , always being at least 6 or so choices from rice pud , english cake , to more exotic treats to try ...
There were 3 pools to choose from , but we stuck to the pool at the top of the complex , and we had to ourselves for the first 10 days , and a waiter who saw that our glass was never empty ..
There is not much going on at night , one disco outside a week , and some beach entertainment once a week , but we were quite happy just taking in the atmosphere..They certainly dont scrimp on serving you drinks , even bringing another before your glass is empty , and with a smile ..
We went to Dahab on the free shuttle , which is much like sharm , everyone trying to get you in there shop ..
The snorkling is amazing here , although it is best to go in the late afternoon when the sea is much calmer .
Try walking left at the beach , we found it lovely , very deserted , only seeing a boy with his camels, sea , and lovely palm trees .
Over all , i would recommend this hotel to any one wanting to relax and wind down , we will certainly be booking again , what a truly unforgetable holiday ..
Oh , just like to say hi and thanks to Jan and Chaz for some fab nights..Your a lovely couple ,, hope to speak to you soon ..xx

Arrived on the Thursday the 9th July at Sharm air port which is a little different to Manchester, once the visa and passport controll was sorted out we was filtered out to the car park where our rep from Olympic Holidays was there to show us to our mini bus for the 1 hour drive to happy life.
We arrived two hours late due to the greece air control. After getting our inclusive wrist straps a bell boy carried our luggage to our room we felt bad as no small change to tip, so we headed of to late supper at the Love boat restaurant at 9.30 pm.
The Love boat is very clean and well presented and a handfull of waiters ready to take your drink order.
The restaurants operate a get a plate and choose your food style buffet, which is fine apart from there were no pictures of the food you are eating so it was a case of suck it and see.
The hotel operates a
Breakfast slot of 7-10 am
Dinner slot of 1-3pm
Tea slot of 7-10pm
between theese times you can get food from any of the bars for very cheap cost only about 7LE £1.
There are currently three pools and they are divided up in to a small pool for the kiddies
The top pool is quiet with mushroom waterfalls and a swim up bar
The middle bar is where all the fun happens there are two water slides into the main pool and a childs slide into the litte pool
The Bottom pool nearest the beach in where the sun worshippers amass and there is a swim up pool as well.
There is a diving shop where you can hire various apparel from snorkeling right through to passing you PADI course the course costs approx 330 euro and takes 4 days.
There is a pier at the beach which everyone must use if they are going to swim or snorkel, due to the coral being so sharp.
When we was there the temperature reached 52Deg cent and 30s at night so very warm.
And if you get chance a trip to Dahab is a must but beware you will need to repeat your NOs a lot as this is where you can buy anything you want and most things you dont need, the trip to dahab is a free bus service which is laid on by the hotel.
And if you get the chance walk to the beach and turn right there you will find a few cafes and you might bump in to a guy called Baraka a true excentric.
FINAL THOUGHTS
I would definatly go back there again for its relaxed way of life and stress free holiday just as it should be.

I stayed at the Happy Life Village for one week All inclusive through Olympic Holidays. The village is a complex of blocks of rooms, with 3 swimming pools and 2 restaurants. The location of the hotel is about 10 mins outside of the centre of Dahab, but the hotel runs a free shuttle bus to Dahab 3 times a day. The hotel complex is clean and bright and is well equipped with a health spa, shop, gym and internet access. The hotel is right on the beach too, with easy access from a little jetty into the crystal clear waters and your own reef with so many wonderful fish and coral. There is a dive centre on the complex where you can hire snorkelling equipment or book dive lessons, or go out on day trips to other sites, but to be honest you dont have to leave the beach to see many wonderful fish.

The rooms are clean and tidy, with good size bathrooms and terrace or balcony. Also with fridge, safe, air con and TV. The TV however, only has one English channel the rest are in Arabic or mostly German. The hotel is used by many German and Russian tour agencies and the majority of the guests are from these countries, so most things are aimed at them. The rooms are cleaned daily with new sheets and towels.

The pools are clean and have sun loungers and free towels, however, the loungers are reserved by some guests very early in the morning so sometimes there is not always enough room. The beach has many loungers too and is less busy most of the time. The sand on the beach is not good, very hard from the desert and the surrounding mountains. But the coral reef is the main attraction so you spend most of time in the water.

The food was good with a good selection of dishes on offer. Can get a bit repeatative at times, especially as I am vegetarian and was a bit limited in the evenings to what I could eat. However, if you require any special dishes the chefs will go out of their way to prepare something for you. The waiters are all very friendly and provide an excellent service. The guys that work at the pool bars are extremely helpful and will go out of their way to help you. A special thanks to Saed and the guys who worked the bar at the bottom swimming pool, they were friendly and helpful and always had a smile on their faces.

Overall, a good hotel in a quiet and peaceful location. Please do not be put off by the road leading to the hotel, it is a bit of a dusty bumpy track but when you arrive at the hotel it is worth the journey. The hotel is currently being developed and in the next year will be double the size, so make the most of the peace now before it becomes too big and developed.

Be warned if you do book through Olympic Holidays there is no travel rep on site or in Dahab, they are based in Sharm. So if you have a problem or want to book any tours then you have to phone the rep on his mobile or get the hotel reception to sort out for you.

I would recommend the overnight trip to Mt. Sinai, but only if you are feeling fit as the hike is hard and its still hot in the middle of the night. But well worth the views of the sunrise in the morning from the top. Can be booked through hotel reception.
