We've just got back from a weeks holiday with Dive urge and, having never written a review on anywhere we've stayed, felt compelld to write a few lines. After the hussle and bussle at sharm airport we were a little confused as to why there was no real "structure" and "organisation" in Dive urge. We very quickly and happily realised that there were such things but it happened in a way that allowed you to slip in to an uber laid back style of service. The breakfast started at 7;30am till.............you got up. Diving was to start at 9:30am but there was nobody running round trying to hurry you to the kit room. We had Mohammed, Kayla and Tariq (sorry if i've spelt those names wrong) and all three of them made the dives extreamly enjoyable and relaxed, however saftey was never off the cards, Mohammed was very thorough with the check dive going through alot of skills to make sure you were competant in the water before unleashing us on the coral life. Something which more dive schools should be encouraging.
My wife had a few back issues and dive urge couldn't be more accommodating. She kitted up in the water and de-kitted there aswell and didn't have to carry anything until she was comfortable enough to do so.
All the staff in dive urge were extremly friendly and helpful. They are all a credit to the establishment. Food urge was excellent aswell particularly the Shakshoukra. Any dietry requirements or any variances to the menu were no problem from smaller portions to nut allergies everyone seemed very clued up on the menu. The kitchen was very clean and tidy from morning to night and there was always someone cleaning as they went.
The rooms were very spacious and light as were the bathrooms.
Extra excursions were on offer and we strongly reccommend the bedouin BBQ in the mountains. An excellent way to end a very relaxing holiday.
Thanks to all and we'll be back! Rob & Claire

Really loved this place and felt at home from the moment we arrived. As new divers we were really taken care of. From the initial, very thorough scuba review with Ahmed including a quick check with the doctor regarding some minor pills my husband was taking - there was absolutely no skimping on safety. Really enjoyed all our dives with Ahmed, Kayla and Mohammed who helped us improve our diving and gently gave us new experiences. The dive sites are amazing, but highlights were a dive with Mohammed at The Lighthouse over some sea grass which sounds unexciting BUT we saw a huge turtle, an octopus being bothered and chased by some fish, several moray eels, puffa fish, lion fish and all manner of creatures going about their business - it was captivating and a good way to practice bouyancy hovering around these animals just watching their behaviour. The sea view room was spacious and comfortable, basic but with everything you need including a fridge to put water (and beer!) in. Food Urge, the restaurant was also a haven of peace and calm with comfy "Bedouin" style areas and relaxed, friendly service right on the beach and easy access to the shallow reef of Eel Garden. The chefs are very creative with presentation! The menu a mix of western style food and Egyptian. There's no alcohol but you can buy your own beer from a shop round the corner and drink it there if you want to. Another highlight was going for a meal in the mountains by camel with the Bedouin people who cooked an amazing feast for us under the stars. Thank you to Fraser too who managed to organise us without us noticing! We also met Lynn, one of the owners who couldn't have been nicer...I wish I could remember all of the names but all of the Dive Urge staff are fantastic, not least the patient Bedouin drivers who have to wait while we go diving and help us with our gear..."Shukran jazilan"! We will be back next year.

We went to Dive Urge in June. It was a very quiet periode, for most of the week we were the only guests. We chose this place because we wanted peace and quiet and thats what we found here! The staff couldn't have been more helpfull, the atmospher was great. The food wonderfull! We also booked a diving course; everything was arranged just fine, the instructor was friendly and adequate. According to us: just a perfect place to stay in Dhahab!

We've just returned from Dive Urge, five of us in our family, 2 parents, 2 teenagers and 11yr old. The children had the new 2 room suite overlooking the beach which was perfect, and we had a lovely sea view room by the garden. It was bliss. The staff were super friendly, played pool with the kids and were on hand to help with any problems at all. We all got our PADI with Ahmed, who we loved, and never lost his patience with any of us. We had a few ear problems, but they took us to the doctor nearby, so everything was sorted. We loved the people there, and it felt like one big happy family, nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious, and cooked special menus for us when we wanted it. The waitress was lovely too. They took us out on adventures in the evening, and gave us the most perfect holiday. We stayed in Le Meridien for 3 days afterwards, and although it was lovely luxury, it was soul-less, horrible food and we missed our fun at Dive Urge. Thank you all so much

We stayed for a week, although I wish it could have been longer! The diving was great, and made better by the awesome instructors we had (mine being Ahmed). The food at Dive Urge was very good, my particular favourite being the fish, and the service was also top notch.
As well as this, all of the staff were very friendly and kind to us, and I will always remember our intense pool matches!!

Overall, thanks a lot for an amazing and memourable trip.

Dive Urge was a great discovery! My girlfriend booked us in there and was happy to trust her judgement without knowing too much about it. Having read the reviews before leaving, I was glad to see that it seemed to be considered a friendly place with great diving instruction. While this is true, it's the little things which really made it stand out from just about every other holiday I've been on.

On other holidays, I've always found it tricky to find a balance with accommdation; if I book somewhere with character, it can often turn out to be grubby; if I spend a little more for a reliably nice room etc, the beurocracy of the hotel can make the atmosphere sterile and annonymous. Dive Urge is the only place I've ever stayed where the staff are perfect - they're friendly, knowledgable about diving, attentive but also understand that sometimes people need their own space to breath in the sea air or stare at the horizon.

It's located about 5 mins walk away from a more touristy spot where lots of restaraunts etc can be found, but this feels a world away as nobody seems to know that this gem is hidden just around the corner. We only discovered the other place by happening across it on a walk. You can't hear or see it at all from Dive Urge. 5 mins in the other direction is the Bedouin Town where you can get a taste of the local's lifestyle.

The hotel itself was amazing. We got caught up in the ash cloud business here in the UK and they were happy to rearrange our booking - twice! They even upgraded us for free when we did arrive.

The room was clean, quiet and with a great view. The beach was silent, peaceful and with bath-warm crystal-clear water which you could walk out into and swim around with fish. There's nothing better than finishing breakfast then stepping a few paces into a sight I'm more used to seeing as an idyllic screensaver.

Diving instruction was amazing. Ahmed was great - very patient and yet also confidence-inspiring. He leaves you with belief in your own abilities rather than depending on his guiding hand. Again, a perfect balance.

Overall, the biggest stress I had on the trip was trying to decide whether to focus on how much I was enjoying the holiday so I could remember it better when I got back to London, or whether to just enjoy the moment. I'm happy to say, there was never any chance of not remembering this great holiday!

We stayed at Dive Urge for one week at the end of May and had a fantastic holiday. My partner did his PADI open water course and his instructor Ahmed was brilliant! He had one-on-one tuition and Ahmed was extremely thorough and patient. I did a scuba review as I hadn't dived for over 3 years and Ahmed took me through a short test and then went through some of the basic skills again. Everything was very organised, thorough, safe and most of all great fun! We were extremely lucky to be two of only three guests at Dive Urge during this low part of the seson and when we weren't diving we spent a lot of time chilling out in the hammocks and on the beach. The Bedouin village is just 5 minutes away where you can stock up on water, use the internet and buy any food supplies you might want (such as delicious sweets from the local bakery)! We however, chose to eat either at Food Urge or at several of the nearby restaurants. Unfortunately we didn't get to dive at Eel Garden just in front of Dive Urge due to the wind but we did manage to go snorkelling on our last few days and it was beautiful.
All the staff at Dive Urge were really helpful with everything and made our stay extremely enjoyable.
We had a great holiday and I would highly recommend Dive Urge.
