For a 4 star hotel it delivers on all aspects, very clean rooms and public areas. Food good selection, despite other reviews we felt there was alot of choice, if you're expecting burger and chips head to Sharm. All inclusive good deal, with all local drinks included. Evening entertainment a bit thin on the ground but like most people here we went for a week to chill out. Great dive centre on the beach.Transfer about 1 hour. Local town worth a look.

Sorry not much of a writter so review will be short & to the point.

We stayed in the Dahabeya from 22/1/09 to 5/2/09. This was our first trip to Dahab but have visited Egypt on several other occasions.

Unlike many others we have never been to a bad hotel in egypt & never had any problems with food poisoning sickness etc. The Dahabeya was as good if not better than the others.
We found the staff to be excelent without exception, the food was well cooked, perhaps a slightly limited selection for two weeks but never went hungry. Bars, pool & location all good. Rooms were smaller than other hotels we have visited but OK. Entertainment was usual animation team plus a few low key shows, Would advise a few evenings in Masbat for a change.

We visited nearby (3 kilometers) Masbat on many occasions. We ate there twice for a change. The Bedoin Lodge on the seafront is very traditional & food was excelent. The town had a nice atmospere, we met & talked to many interesting locals.

All in all an excelent holiday, hope to go back soon!

We stayed here last week and it was really lovely. In terms of value for money we really couldn't have asked for more.

The pool, communal areas and rooms are spotlessly clean, the staff are extremely helpful and we found the service generally very efficient. I cannot speak highly enough of the cleanliness and attention to detail generally. The staff go out of their way to make you comfortable and are happy to either chat or leave you be as you prefer.

The beach is within a minute of the pool and is clean, peaceful and well maintained. I can imagine it definitely gets a bit small for peak season though.

We were a bit wary of being all-inclusive never having done it before but there were certainly no chavs to contend with and most of the other residents were obviously there for a peaceful break too, which meant it was generally very quiet most of the time.

As for the food complaints some of you have noted on here, all I can suggest is that if you were staying for a fortnight then it would definitely get a bit boring. However my boyfriend and I always managed to find a very good choice of things to eat and the standard of everything in terms of freshness was excellent. The red meat was very tasty and well prepared. The puddings were decidedly odd but that may be a national thing?

Our only gripe in terms of the hotel was that the music around the pool during the daytimes was too loud, as was the entertainment in the bar area during the evenings. If we'd have a beachfront room the latter wouldn't have been a problem and in fairness the evening entertainment finishes reasonably early (10.30-11 ish).

Masbat isn't all that... authentic in all the wrong ways (i.e. quite dirty and incessant pestering by shop owners) and inauthentic in all the wrong ways too (i.e. a bit touristy, full of noisy Austrailians and very little of architectural merit) although that may just be our taste.

  • Liked — Rooms - beautifully clean and well presented.
  • Disliked — Nosiy music at poolside

Nice quiet location, good clean well run hotel, nothing taken for granted by the senior management, lots of checks.
Right beside a nice long safe beach. Great heated pool. good sized rooms, well cleaned daily. Good bed, good shower, no problems whatsoever.
Food may become repetitive if staying for a fortnight but always plenty of choice and never disappointed. (Hot trays could have been hotter though). Not what I would classify as atypical of AI. Will return.
Beach bar closes too early for a romantic seat by the sea, not much in the way of evening entertainment (possibly no bad thing) A great get away from it all week.

Stayed at this Hotel in May 2008 and was very impressed, so we spent a week in Jan 2009. The staff are very good and the 2 waiters Mostafha and Mohammed are excellent, look for them if you go. We were well cared for by all the staff who are extremely friendly and will do anything for you. We cannot wait to go back for our 3rd time. Try a massage from Mohammed the masseur, he is good. Well done to all who work at the hotel. It was spotless clean and had no problems with the food and veriety.

The Iberotel in Dehab was absolutely brilliant for our family. We had 2 rooms by the pool, one for us and one for our three children. The rooms were very modern, with everything we needed and were kept very clean. The hotel facilities were great, daily activities if you wanted to join in, for both adults, children and teenagers; evening entertainment and games room. The pool area was uncrowded and again very clean and well maintained. The all inclusive option worked very well for us, taking the strain out of drink and ice cream requests from the children. The food was delicious with plenty of variety for all tasts and age groups. The staff at the Iberotel were great and could not do enough to help. The surf centre right outside the hotel on the beach was an added bonus, again with very friendly and helpful staff. The beach was one of the cleanest and most uncrowded I have ever been on. Have already looked into going back next year.

I have to say, as soon as we arrived at the hotel in the early evening,i had a good feeling about the place.
Are bags were taken from us and taken to are room by friendly staff.
Are room was clean,we had a tv and the shower always produced hot water without fail.
we had a ground floor room, 20 yards from the pool ,which was clean and very relaxing.
The hotel is situated about 50 yards from the beach,f antastic!
Food was served three times a day and i thought to be of a good standard.
The chefs were friendly and the waiters and bar staff were exellent and were very helpful..The rooms were cleaned to a high standard every day.
The thompson rep we met on the first day was only interested in selling his own tours, so my advice would be to ask holidaymakers who have been there before, for places to go.
Dahab is a mecca for windsurfing, but there is plenty of room for swimming in certain areas as well..check out ibi and friends for windsurfing hire, i found them to be the cheapest, for the week i stayed, the cost of a weeks hire was 125.00 euros, although this price was a special offer and is not always the going rate.
Travel agents tell you all sorts of rubbish about what currency to take, in my experience euro's are what vendors want.
we took trips to dahab city and the blue hole, neither would i want to visit again, personally i think all you need for a great holiday, is in dahab itself.
Yes there are a lot of russians and germans there, but i found them to be no different than british holiday makers, some friendly some withdrawn..
I would go back to the hotel tommorrow if i could..
Thank you to all the staff, for the best holiday we have ever had.
