The Daniela is about a mile or so from Dahab, on the way to the famous Blue hole so is ideally placed for both but has resisted the 'sharmification' Dahab is succumbing to. It is a beautiful collection of buildings that genuinely fit into the landscape. Daniela also has it's own beach and stretch of coral reef to enjoy less than 100 yards from the swimming pool.
I visited in the last week of July with wife, teenage son and mother in law and all were gloriously happy with our stay. The manager Hagag even drove my wife and I into Dahab and showed us around himself one evening when we asked to order a taxi, the kind of personal, genuine hospitality that can't be faked. The food was delicious at Daniela and the service exemplary and the rooms spacious and cool. They even provide all of the usual excursions themselves with small numbers so there is no need to sign up to the cattle truck tour company ones, they also have there own small dive center if that's your thing. Get it while it's hot would be our advice, it can't last forever.More
