“Well taken care of”
Reviewed 13 February 2012

I stayed here by myself for a week in January 2012.
I was picked up in the airport and returned at the end of my stay, easy and quick, arranged by the hotel. Room (standard) was nice and comfortable, simple, but cleaned everyday. Only thing was that it was winter in Egypt, so the room was cold at night. I had a nice and warm duvet so I managed with a pair of socks and ski-underwear :-) So opt for a room with a heater or don't go in wintertime :-) Location is perfect in Dahab. Wifi didn't work in the hotel when I was there, but then I just went to the bar. Most importantly, the staff is very welcoming, friendly and helpful. I felt well taken care of and that was most important to me.

There's something special about the Blue Beach. It's not a flash hotel by any means but somehow it gets things just right. It's just the right size to be friendly (guests just seem to mingle here effortlessly, you'd be fine if you came on your own) and staff are friendly and helpful too. The rooms are spacious and comfortable (I like the new block, it can be a bit noisy if you face the sea because of scuba divers in the morning) and there's a yoga shala on the roof too if you want to have classes. The food is nothing special but it's in a great location just a few minutes walk from town so you're a comfortable distance from the busy area, but only 5-10 mins to get to the hustle and bustle for a bt of variety. The pool is nice, and it's just across the road / path from the beach. I've stayed at the Blue Beach twice on yoga holidays and I'll be back!

Room Tip: I like the new block. It's away from the main bit of the hotel (with pool, restaurant, beach et...

Just spent a week at BBC - was out of town last year at Tropitel which was too remote but this is great for access to restaurants , Poseidon dive centre and Dahab generally being only a 5 minute stroll out - but quiet too if that's what's wanted. Very nice, clean superior room - friendly bar - free wifi good in places but not consistent- good breakfast. Hoping to dive Dahab again next year ( it's so chilled! ) and will definitely stay at BBC.

I have stayed here twice - first time about ten years ago and then most recently New Year 2012. Both times have been as part of a package yoga holiday. The two experiences couldn't have been more different. They have upgraded the rooms and the new wing across the road is a great addition. If you opt for superior rooms you get a TV, tea/coffee making facilities and a safe. If you're not bothered do go for the new standard rooms. The bar has also gone to non smoking (inside) although getting through the smokey terrace can be a bit of a nightmare. Breakfast is a bit hit and miss - go for the freshly cooked omelettes or pancakes as the rest seem to have been sitting there for a while.

Room Tip: New rooms across the road are better value and they have a terrace which catches the afternoon sun.

We came to the Blue Beach Club for our honeymoon in September 2011 and stayed in the apartment. It was a great experience. We had our own private roof terrace, a huge kitchen and two living rooms! The bathroom was huge but a bit smelly. We spent some time in the beach bar and snorkelled most days. Wifi is patchy but good enough. Snorkelling is great at the eel garden where there is also a really nice chilled out atmosphere in the evening. Food on the beachfront is really reasonable but most places dont serve alchohol so take some with you. Horse riding was also fabulous. Thanks also to the staff who were really helpful. I would definitely like to come back and rent the apartment again - maybe with a group of friends next time.

Room Tip: apartment is fabulous

We have just returned from a fabulous week, staying over Christmas, at The Blue Beach Club. We booked the hotel independently over the internet and from the moment we made contact via email, we had nothing but help and prompt replies to any questions we had (including what was the weather going to be like and should we bring a jumper!!!). Incidentally, the temperature was perfect for us: warm, around 25 during the day, making sun bathing and snorkelling a dream, but it could get chilly in the evenings so we recommend you bring jeans and a light jumper! Anyway, upon our arrival ( Via a Thompson flight from Bristol to Sharm) we were delighted to be leaving the package crowd behind as we slipped into the taxi sent from The Blue Beach, at a very reasonable cost. Within an hour we had arrived in Dahab. Smiling faces (and they remained that way the entire time) greeted us at reception! Yoshthre, Rammi and Innez (huge apologies for phonetic spelling!!!) were a delight and just couldn't do enough for us. They were always pleasant, helpful and welcoming. They organised riding for us (spectacular, and well worth doing!); they helped us use the currency changing machine ( I brought sterling and changed there getting a better rate of exchange!) and generally, helped us to have the wonderfully relaxing break we had hoped for. In the restaurant, Clair and her crew greeted us every morning and again, couldn't be more helpful, giving us all the local info and where best to get that tan! And of course, not forgetting Abdul, who will keep you informed and entertained at the bar/ pool and restaurant: all of these people gave the hotel a friendly, family feeling. Set right on the beach you are a few minutes walk to the main drag of diving centres, a beautiful reef for snorkelling and an array of bars/ restaurants etc! We stayed pretty much around here but did visit the"Alcohol shop" further into Dahab a few times....I mention this as it may be useful to know that there were actually some very palatable Egyptian red wines and a drinkable whiskey (Auld stag!!!) available at around £6 and £3.50 respectively! On the money front, the whole holiday was very reasonable...I took £400 and returned with £60 (and that included the hotel!!!). The pricey part is the flight...after that, very, very good value! Our room was lovely...modern bathroom tho' shower could have been more powerful, lovely balcony overlooking sea (Rm 204). One of the superior ones on the seafront side which is what I would recommend tho' the newer rooms do have fab views of the mountains behind.Everything in Dahab is low level so no nasty sky scrapers to block the views! In conclusion, if you're interested in diving, snorkelling, riding in the desert, hiking, windsurfing, yoga, sunbathing or just lazing on the beach, look no further! If you're looking for glitz, nightlife and rowdy teenagers pass on by! We hope to return and if so will def stay at The Blue Beach!
