“An excellent place to stay, especially for the 1st class Blue Realm dive operation”
Reviewed 12 January 2011

I found Blue Realm Diving through their very well-written web site and just had a good feeling about the place, which was totally confirmed in every way. The attitude here is casual, laid-back, and professional all at the same time. Although we had our own gear, looking at the rental equipment, I found it hard to believe it had ever been used, and would have been delighted to have made use of it if that had been our plan. The owners, Khaled and Sita, were knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and take care of everything. For a dive master, my husband and I were matched with Sebastian, a young French ex-pat whose style fit us perfectly. He knew his critters and his territory, and was very happy to accommodate us on every dive. We were also lucky enough to spend a day on the Aeolus, an absolutely gorgeous boat captained by Hakim, to Gabr el Bint. There were about a dozen Russians, with their dive guide, and us with Sebastian. Again, everything about the trip was first-class. As was the diving.
Being from the States, and spending lots of time in the Caribbean, the diving was really different for us, and spectacular. We’ve never seen such diverse, healthy and huge corals. Nothing was crowded, and the fish life was amazing. From Dahab, we went to Sharm for a few days, and wished we had never left Dahab, since the diving is so much better there. I can’t recommend it or Blue Realm highly enough.
We also stayed at the associated hotel, the Blue Beach Club. We were on the “other” side of the road, away from the beach, but found it very quiet and not a problem as some have suggested. Our room was newly refurbished, and very large and comfortable. The prices were reasonable, there was a pickup waiting for us at the airport, the restaurant was decent; really, there were no downsides whatsoever. It’s also nice that the operation is a little north of the main drag. It’s very easy to get to any restaurants or shops with a short walk, but you’re not in the middle of the tourist shops and crowds.
I would return to Blue Realm in a heartbeat, and thanks Sita and Khaled for such a wonderful time.

We loved this place. The rooms were lovely, the staff very friendly and helpful and great location. Only a few minute walk to main strip of town, right on the beach. The beach is rocky and the pool is really nice right along the beach, but the pool was fairly chilly. Very clean, and the restaurant and bar at the hotel are great too!

On a first-ever trip to Egypt, I was looking for somewhere that would combine an authentic Egyptian experience with a more relaxed atmosphere where we could worry a bit less about appropriate dress and let our hair down a bit after Cairo. The Blue Beach Club was absolutely 100% perfect. We asked for a Deluxe room and got marble tiled floors, a super-comfy mattress, and a window that opened onto a courtyard with flowers blooming. Although we couldn't see the sea, we could hear the waves crashing, lulling us to sleep.

Travelers should understand, this is not a 5-star place--the shower is tiny, you mustn't drink the tap water (which I believe is desalinated water from the Red Sea), and there are no phones in the room, however, the breakfast is delicious and hearty (crepe-like pancakes made to order, fresh omelets, and a variety of Egyptian foods), the location is perfect, and the overall feel of the place is simply heavenly. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a calm, low-key getaway. It just feels good to be there.

We went on the Beduin camel-trek which was arranged by the hotel, and that was also a great experience. (Beware, those with tender bottoms--camel saddles are not terribly padded.) The hotel also let us stay for an extra half-day, paying only half rate, so we could swim before our evening departure and shower afterward before leaving.

There is a lot of development in the area, and I hope that Dahab doesn't go the way of Sharm el Sheikh, but for now, it's delightful.

We were in Dahab for a few days after a conference in Cairo. It was the perfect prescription for relaxing, easy going people who enjoy helping you enjoy your stay. The staff was wonderful and willing to see to our every need. Our room looked right down the walkway to the sea. We will be back again and unlike a lot of Egypt businesses they did not act as though they needed our last pound! Also, unlike many of the other hotels in Dahab this one was far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the shops but close enough you can walk down the waterfront and be in the middle of shops and restaurants. The staff also helped us with travel arrangements and tours as we asked for them. This is a one shop place if you want or they are just around if you need them.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. The price was very reasonable and affordable for the what you get.

In the first 4 nights I had a room in the ground floor, which was not very beautiful, because I looked only to the wall of the diving center and had the noise of the diving center (generators(?) in the afternoon. Then I could move to the first floor with a beautiful look to the sea an a balcony - wonderful!
Unfortunately the hotel has no beach to go swimming, only rocks and coral reef.
The staff ist very friendly and helpfull, this was a great pleasure!
It would be a great advantage if the diving station was outside and the place could be used as a garden.

We had a short break of four nights at the Blue Beach and would certainly return. We'd asked for a superior room with a sea view and that is what we got. It was clean, comfortable and quiet - perfect. The staff in the hotel were always extremely courteous and helpful. The breakfasts were varied and plentiful. We had requested transfers from and to Sharm airport and these were also well organised and efficient. Even our late arrival and change of departure time caused no problems. The Blue Beach is highly recommended and we will be back.

It's not always easy to pick up a new location to spend a holiday. Me and my wife have just returned from a wonderful week's autumn break and our first ever trip to Egypt. What made our stay in Dahab exceed our expectations was the exceptional friendliness and comfortability of Blue Beach Club. We found the location just perfect - right on the beach and close to the local "downtown". The hotel is outside the tourist uproar which suited us well (but close enough if you want it). There are small supermarkets, a choice of beach restaurants and of course snorkeling close at hand. The complimentary breakfast buffet keeps you going for a long time. The superior double room was spacious with balcony, AC and spotless bathroom. The hotel seems to be very well maintained. On the top of it all we were amazed of how the staff takes care of the hotel guests. All our questions were always attended promptly and we were treated with genuine friendliness.
