When we first arrived in Egypt we were sleep deprived and exhausted, check-in was easy enough.

When we first arrived we settled on a small square in the hotel, and my fiancee was startled by the hotel camel.

we love animals, so no real problem though.

Room was on the quiet side away from the pool, at night you could see the stage where the staff put on a show every night at 21:00, the all inclusive beer is good for quenching thirst but if you wanna get hammered order the drinks.

The whole place is squeaky clean, and we didn't notice any insect problems aside from the odd fly or two, there are 4-5 stray cats that seem friendly enough.

The water that is used to water the plants is recycled, and it can smell a bit funny, but nothing you will notice in your room at all.

3 pools to choose from, one noisy fitness, one kiddie pool with a slide, and a lazy pool.

The food was excellent, varied enough that we didn't bother to dine around, and the hotel can arrange for food when you go on trips aka breakfeast in a bag.

I did not experience any stomach problems until i got home, when you go down town and see the best way supermarket, head left and follow the facade, you'll see a nicer supermarket that sells real beer and cd's and everything else you could imagine.

Hotel private beach seems like a haven for kitesurfers, colona divers arranges snorkel and scuba trips, very well planned i might add.

I never felt uneasy in el gouna, people are friendly, and theres police everywhere.

I can recommend dunes bar, very relaxing.

I would not hesitate to return to this hotel, it was truly a nice trip.

Firstly, El Gouna is a great destination. It’s friendly, clean, good choice of shops, good transportation, nice beaches, a lovely marina and its safe.

TTC Rihana Inn is not by any means in our opinion a 4 star hotel, more in the 2-3 bracket we felt. We got a good price we thought for this 4 star hotel via lowcostholidays for a 2-week all inclusive package. What we got was a basic hotel with no room facilities as standard i.e. tea/coffee making facilities or hairdryer. The mattress may as well have been on the floor the bed was that hard. The room we had was basic, but clean. The housekeeping staff however was very attentive and friendly. The shower had no pressure a lot of the time and during the day the dirty water backed up in the pipes giving our room a pungent smell.

The hotel resort itself was nice enough, 3 pools and a lagoon, but the main things that spoiled our leisurely time by the pool and lagoon were the guys wandering around touting for business for things like health spa treatments, day trips, henna tattoos etc., loud (repetitive) music and the animation staff trying to get you to join the various activities i.e. volley ball

The resort has 4 restaurants, 2 that serve meals for the half board/ all-inclusive guests and the other 2 were for diners who were willing to pay for variety and decent food. The food was served buffet style and was very ok if you like the same thing pretty every day. There were themed nights, but the food never really changed that much. We unfortunately suffered with bad stomachs after the third day of our stay. Bad manners annoyed us as pushing in seemed to be the “norm”. Drinks were served from the various bars around the complex (excluding the “Peanuts” bar) in kiddie size plastic cups.

In the resort there are some shops, but a little on the pricey side. Shop keepers are friendly enough, but are also quite pushy.

Changing larger currency down into smaller notes is best down at the local bank. The staff were very helpful unlike the experiences we had with the resort or the Inn reception staff. They either said they didn’t have change or tried to give us mixed currencies, which didn’t add up.

The Animation Staff were very friendly, but the shows they did nightly were all dance themed and there was no variation after 2 weeks.

There are plus sides to this holiday. If you want to experience Egypt, take the day trip to Luxor, but go by private car. It’s much quicker therefore giving you time to see more while you’re there. Karnack Temple was great as was the Valley of the Kings and the other attractions we saw throughout the day. A trip on the Nile is recommended, even it is just to say I’ve been on the Nile.

Desert safari is recommended, again even if just to stay you’ve met a real Bedouin tribe, drank black tea with them and had a nosey around their place (quite a humbling experience).

Snorkelling, WOW!!!! We’ve never seen so many different varieties of fish in the sea and up close. Next time we go to our local aquarium, I’m so looking forward to pointing out the ones I’ve seen in the Red Sea! The great thing about the snorkelling was that it was free, just the cost of a trip on the shuttle boat to the beach and a walk along the long jetty, which took you out to a reef. The beauty about the snorkelling also was that you could experience all this in just a few feet of water if you didn’t want to go snorkelling off the jetty as some the some fish could been seen in very shallow waters too. As you can imagine we spent as much time in the Red Sea as we could rather than in the hotel resort.

Coming home, our flight got cancelled and we were put up in the nearby Movenpick for one night and what a contrast! The Movenpick is rated 5 stars and it’s clear why they have that status. We were given a lovely room, food was great, staff very friendly and helpful. It really put TTC Rihana Inn we felt to shame.

We just returned from The Rhianna Inn, although a seperate hotel & cheaper than the Rhianna Resort it really didn't feel any different, however we never viewed any other rooms. We had connecting pool view rooms (324/326 ) the kids had a twin with french doors so the room was bigger, ours was a double with balcony (see photo's) they had both been refurbished with lovely cream curtains, freshly painted and white duvets, however we had these changed for sheets as it was so warm..

We mainly used the Sunny larger Buffet restaurant as it had more choice, however The Plaza was much more chilled. We ate at Dolce Vita twice on the dine around with the 40LE Discount 4 pizza only cost a extra £6 so well worth it for a change from buffet dining. Burgers/salads etc available at the lagoon each day, tea & cakes at 4pm each day was nice..Ice cream avalable at pool bars....

Entertainment was pretty basic, kids entertainment first then show afterwards, Sunset Lounge was great very chilled with cocktails, board games etc available too....

We did a full day snorkeling trip with easy divers (booked in hotel on lagoon beach) cost £90 3 adults & 1 child, we saw Dolphns twice on the trip..

All in all a Great Holiday slightly quieter than last years holiday to Sharks Bay Sharm...

Just back from the Three Corners Rihana Inn in El Gouna with my husband. This was our first visit to Egypt and was a nice introduction. We booked everything independently and found a well priced 10-night flight from Manchester with 'flythomascook.com' and booked the hotel via On The Beach 'otbeach.com'. Taken from a recommendation on TripAdvisor we used 'gotohurghada.net' for the transfers and they were worth every penny. The rep was waiting for us as soon as we entered the Arrivals Hall with our completed visas and, once we had our suitcases, escorted us through customs straight into a waiting taxi. The whole process took less than fifteen minutes - the queue for Visas by that time was immense!

The hotel itself was good. I wouldn't personally class it as a 4* - more 3*+. The room didn't have a balcony, which we had requested, which was a shame - we were immediately offered a different room with a balcony, but no view. In the end we settled for the original room which overlooked one of the pools. All the staff were helpful and very polite and the room was kept spotlessly clean. We never had to eat a meal indoors, thank goodness as it looked a bit like a school's dining hall, but as everyone else seemed to smoke it wasn't always a pleasant experience. There was a nice breeze which, in turn, blew cigarette smoke over you, some of the people there seemed to 'eat' cigarettes one after the other. Also, the chairs are very solid and people just scraped them in and out giving out an ear splitting noise which didn't add to the ambiance. There were also a lot of flies - one woman left her bread/butter/salad uncovered on the table and went to get something else and I don't think there was one part of her plate untouched by flies! We always went into get food separately whilst the other kept the flies at bay - which in turn mean't that we didn't often eat together! I found the food to be fresh and plentiful, I don't eat meat, but there was always fish or the 'Vegetarian Corner', to be honest I could have survived on the bread/butter and coffee (Nescafe) - they were gorgeous. There was plenty of choice - provided you didn't put everything on one plate - one man in front of me had a plate of beef stew, cajun chicken wings and, believe it or not, was waiting for fish - this was all on the same plate! I later heard him moan that there wasn't any 'choice'. The pools were immaculately clean - but too cold for me to get into (except once) which was a real shame as they looked so inviting. Also the sunbeds got snapped up quickly - it was easy to tell where the best places were because they all had towels on them. We saw one man come out at 5.30am to bag his beds! In fact they had the same ones every day - how sad. Saying that, there were plenty of beds and if you moved round to one pool or another you could take advantage of all the available sunshine. We didn't like PeaNuts very much - the chairs weren't the most comfy and the smoke was unbelievable - and this was an open air bar. The resident duo were ok, nothing special. We got all day bus tickets (5 Egyptian Pounds / 60p sterling) and went to the Marina most nights for a drink or walked into DownTown, just for a change of scenery. In the Marina we watched a girl called Corrine singing in Studio 58 (I think) - she is there Thursdays and one other night, and she was brilliant - would highly recommend seeing her. The Sunset Bar was 'no smoking' and felt more like a 4* environment.

Didn't do any trips, but plenty on offer. Just went on the hotel boat trip one day and out on bikes with the rep another. We had planned to do all sorts but the Rihana is very relaxing and we just chilled.

All in all we found the hotel and staff to be very good and wouldn't be disappointed if we had to go back. Unfortunately the world is too smaller place for us to return to the same place but we do look forward to trying Egypt again next winter.

As for money - you could quite happily get away with English, US Dollar, Euros or Egyptian Pounds: they are happy to take any currency! Just very grateful to have you buy something from them - the recession is hitting hard. There is no 'hard sell' in El Gouna, just extremely nice, pleasant, polite shopkeepers.

The rooms were a tad on the basic side but extremely clean. Any time we needed wny help someone was there within minutes so I couldnt complain about service at all. Staff were lovely.. Night time entertainment was mega cheesy but quite amusing. Food was good.. On my birthday we went to one of the posh restaurants and chose Chhez Pascale.. It was lovely!
The private lagoon was beautiful and couldnt understand why people sat next to the pool when the lagoon was there.. they must be bonkers.. Downtown El Gouna was only 5 mins walk too and plenty of shops there for the travellers that go for that. Some good prices too.

I loved the place and would go back in an instant!

We've just come back from the 3 Corners Rhianna Inn - we travelled with another couple of a kitesurfing holiday on a budget. We went all inclusive which was really good value for the food and drinks, especially as the beach bar serves food. The main bonus of staying at the Rhianna for kitesurfers is that it is the only hotel with a private beach RIGHT next to the kite centres. We stored out stuff and hung out at the Buzza kite centre, and got all out food and drink from the Rhianna beach bar. The all inclusive is not of the same standard as 4 star in europe, but it does the job. As expected in egypt we had pretty dodgy stomachs from the food, but we dealt with it and the kitesurfing was worth it! beware - the evening entertainment at the hotel is AWFUL! on no-wind days, the snorkelling off mangrovy beach is incredible. the marina is great for a beer - papa's island is a very cool bar. Dunes downtown is a good spot for a drink and some shisha. Go karting next to the hotel is well worth doing. generally spend as little time at the hotel as possible and youll have a great holiday!
