“very nice hotel on the new Marina”
Reviewed 8 June 2011

I just stayed 3 nights at Fanadir last week and I must say that the staff is very cooperative, friendly and caring! the receptionists were very helpful and quick! Rooms are big and they have great cheeseburger that we used to order every night from room service!! some rooms have a nice view on the marina and some a nice view on the pool. Both are nice! very good prices as well!!

Located in El Gouna : Disneyland in the desert, but without mickey mouse :-)
Fanadir is a new hotel with nice and clean rooms, friendly staff, extensive breakfast buffet and enjoyable pool. Going to the beach requires a 10-15 min walk or 5 min by transportation.
Located in a newly developed marina which lacks some atmosphere as the overall occupation is still low due to 'work in progress'. Not to worry however as the other marinas around the corner will surely make it up...

Although the Fanadir and its sister hotel Mosaique are both only four months old and have the 'shiny-new' appearance throughout, with a high standard of cleanliness and general hygiene and (at times) over effusive service and willingness to please (with only 20 - 30 guests what else to expect!) - the place still manages to exude a cosy, comfortable and welcoming ambience, feeling 'lived in' and very welcoming.

A credit to the Norwegian manageress (very friendly and interacted with all of her guests daily - whereas her husband, the joint manager appeared indifferent to British guests and never spoke to any of our group once!) .

A special mention to Beshay and Shenoda on reception, their genuine friendliness and professional efficiency made us feel like special guests from the minute we arrived, always time for a chat and to share a joke. Last but not least the entire Service team working the bar and 'Sails' restaurant for whom nothing was too much trouble, their polite and attentive service (and tenacity in coping with and maintaining a smile whilst serving certain other more unpleasant and demanding British guests - well there is always at least one total pain wherever you go!) showed their dedication and ability to maintain a friendly but professional relationship with guests. Gamil, Ibrahim, Moustaffa and the really shy, quiet waiter (Shenade?) who was so attentive at pool drinks service - they were all absolute stars.

Please just don't tell anyone about this, it is a real find and best suited to Mid-range adult holidaymakers!

Room Tip: agree - best to keep as adult only

We had a wonderful relaxing holiday based in the Hotel Fanadir and its twin next door Hotel Mosaique. We have been to Egypt many times before and this was the best food and service that we have ever had. Friendly staff and professional management made us really welcome. Two pools, both heated that was good for March in Egypt. El Gouna is a charming area 20 Km north of Hugharda and well away from the maddening crowd.

Plenty of new clean sun beds, great pool attendant & service.

We had a nice room overlooking the new North Marina, free shuttle bus to the beach and the El Gouna Bus Stop was just outside the hotels

We took the "all inclusive" option for drinks and food and that worked well for the two of us.

We plan to return to The Hotel Fanadir later this year, one can't say better than that !

Just got back from this fanadir, had a room just off the heated pool area.
By the way we had no problems while out in in hurgada.

We were luckily enough to be transferred to fanadir from the captains inn.

This was my time in Egypt, the people where really friendly, especial ZAHER an excellent waiter, for all that stayed at the fanadire.

I had a bit of sun stroke, he looked after me, fetching me soup, and a bowl for my sickness, a credit to this hotel.

Our friends really loved this hotel, and talked about going back in October.

More about the hotel

The rooms cleaned and changed every day, the pool the food was excellent; waiters waiting on your every need.

Breakfast is until 10.30 we liked this as my partner is a late raiser.

We were told that the golf course will be finished in a year, with the sun setting just behind it, this will add an extra bonus for us brits, as the ladies can either do some shopping around the marina, or just lay by the pool, with cocktails, or take the short walk, but a pleasant one, and worth it, to the beach, which have lovely big loungers, just felt like the Caribbean, waiters again from the local bar, one problem hear the toilets not good at the bar.

I also noticed that you can connect to the internet at some bars, my mobile worked fine, except for a couple of days, could have been my provider.

Lots of brits have holiday home in el gouna, it seems the best time to travel is between September and March, as it starts to get very hot as you can imagine.

You will need something warm at night when the sun goes down it can be very cold, so don’t forgot your cardi or jacket, I did not wear any of my summer clothes, in the evening, so wore them during the day.

The temperature for our week was about 70 to 75 and sunny from 7 till 4.
But don’t under estimate the heat, as I am used to the sun and I got sun stroke.
Well happy holidays in el gouna.

Even though this is a new Hotel we hardly noticed it. The staff was very service minded and combined with the great food (wich very variated) and the great quiet area, this was a very enjoyable week for us. Very relaxing.

There was some construction going on at the hotel next door, but we hardly noticed this by sound or vision.

We also felt safe in El Gouna.

In the future, we would gladly return to Fanadir :-)
