Stayed here for 2 nights and really liked it. No frills--nice rooms and nice bathroom; Good size for both and the location for this hotel is terrific; 5 minute walk from the Marina. The best part=no children which in Egypt means a ton because the children are behaved very very badly and in a nice place like al-Gouna, other hotels like the Sheraton always have a ton of kids, which therefore means that there is absolutely no peace and quite to be had. This place has a nice simple pool and the people--reception and others were very nice and seek to leave you alone. I will absolutely go back ASAP. Thanks!

We stayed a week at the Fanadir. The room was big and nice, but the fan in the AC was so loud that it sounded like we slept at the airport.
The night staff was very friendly, so was the house keeping depatrment.

We weren't too sure about staying in a smaller hotel as we had previously stayed at several of the larger hotels in El Gouna, however we weren't disappointed. When we arrived there had been a mix up with the name on our booking which caused a bit of confusion and a delay. Because we had to wait for some time we were given an upgrade to a suite which overlooked the marina. The suite consisted of two good size rooms which were very comfortable with a fantastic view although the furnishings were a little basic and the air con unit quite noisy. It was my birthday while we were there and the room attendant, Ahmed, noticed the cards and asked about it, when we came back to the room later he had decorated the bed with flowers and a towel fashioned into a cake. The next day he left a lovely chocolate birthday cake which was a really thoughtful touch. The hotel was quiet during the time we were there so there were always sunbeds available and the pool was very clean and warm. Overall it is good value for money, the breakfast is adequate but not brilliant and in the main the waiting staff were efficient. There have been some negative comments about the staff in the reception but they were always helpful, friendly and courteous. There are some great restaurants on the marina and we can thoroughly recommend the Le Deauville and the Maritim, Club 88 is a great place for lunch and Offshore just outside the hotel serve the best chips ever!!

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the marina have a great view with sunny balconies

just returned.from 2 week holiday..the fanadir was excellent..when we arrived straight away they upgraded us to a suite..don't know why..but thanks guys room was excellent..been to el gouna before and I could not fault this hotel..only 2 negatives tho..no free wifi and the bootled water was way to expensive at 2 English pound 20 egyption come on guys get it sorted.the hotel is perfectly situated on the marina nice breeze so just nice ..also the staff are all really nice and friendly but not in your face..so would certainly recommend .altho gouna is really quiet.not for families..jobos bar in downtown is the only bar with any life..but just for quiet holiday this is the place

Room Tip: we emailed first my birthday while we there maybe that's why they upgraded us..but it never hurt...

some words in english for the Fanadir! We used to live in this Hotel the last week in March 13.
first: the staff is very friendly and carefully.
second: the room was big, the beds too. bathroom also big.
censure: the room was little bit dusty. No Moskito net on the windows, there is a big problem with Moskitos!!!
Diner! was, I sad to say, a little bit tasteless and boring, if you dines a week long.

Cheers yours Scotti

Absolutely loved it. Rooms were lovely. The staff were superb!! They genuinely couldn't do enough and tipping was never expected. The breakfast and room service were brilliant and the location was 10 minute walk or 2 minute tok tok ride (50 pence each) from the main marina which had some of the finest restaurants I have eaten in on holiday.

This hotel was just what we wanted - quiet and comfortable with excellent service and spotlessly clean inside and out.
We had a marina view room which was cleaned every day and bed linen was changed mid week. Breakfast was good with a plentiful supply of lovely fresh bread, cheeses, cold meats, fruit and cereals. There was a hot food station for omelettes, scrambled eggs, crepes etc.
We were there B&B but the little tuktuks were always around to take us to the marina or downtown for dinner (go to La Scala at the marina and Athena downtown for great food and the warmest of welcomes )
We must give special praise to the hotel staff. Without exception they were all friendly, helpful and efficient - nothing was too much trouble for them. Peter on reception ("my favourite Egyptian"!!) was particularly helpful and gave us lots of useful information.
It all added to the enjoyment of our holiday and we will definitely return to the Fanadir.
