My husband and I stayed here in March and we had the most wonderful relaxing and chilled out holiday ever. The beach front room meant we could just fall out of bed and spend the day on the beach walk a few steps to the beach bar for drinks and lunch he take a tuk tuk to the Marina for an evening meal. The reception staff were excellent and sorted out any problems or requests we had very quickly.Yes it was quiet particularly in the evenings but that suited us as we just wanted a relaxing time. We did take a trip on a catermaran one day and snorkelled then drank champagne on board which was a fabulous end to the holiday.

We visited Sheraton Miramar early of March 2013 for a week, everything was meticulous and functioning perfectly.
Our room was modern, spacious, and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was heavenly. Not just in terms of quantity but also presentation, taste and quality.
Everyone at the hotel works to get your satisfaction, highly qualified receptionists, the location is spotless, We will use Sheraton Miramar again.

El Gouna is about 30 mins transfer from Hurghada and 40 mins from the airport. It's an amazing place; a private town with 15000 living and working there. The buildings in El Gouna are built around lagoons with bridges joining them together. The style is traditional Arabic in style and colour; very different to most of the resorts in Egypt. The town centre - Downtown - has lots of good shops and restaurants. This is a short (5min) trip on a tuk tuk for 50p each - they are always available at the front of the hotel. The marina is also a good place to eat.
The Sheraton is a beautiful hotel, the staff are friendly and helpful. We were in a beach front ground floor room with a veranda and two sun beds. It was large with a great view of the sea, a lovely comfy bed and a large shower room with twin sinks. We stayed for 10 nights on a B&B basis and ate in the Italian restaurant a couple of times and the food was good. Breakfast was vary varied and buffet style. We also ate in restaurants in Downtown as we like to get to know the local area. The first few days there were few western tourists but lots of Egyptian families staying for a business conference and it was lovely to see them enjoying themselves during such a difficult time in Egypt. The last few days the hotel was much busier with tourists. It's such a shame that this beautiful safe area is so quiet. We went to Hurghada for the day and it was fine.
We almost cancelled the holiday because I had broken my ankle a few weeks before but the staff were so helpful they made it easy for me to get around, the reception and main restaurant was about 5 mins walk from our room but the staff would drive me on a golf buggy at any time if I asked. We will definitely be going back to the Sheraton Miramar.

Room Tip: it was very quiet while we were there so I think all rooms would have been fine

Travelling: 2 adults 1 child. We should have been to Sharm El Sheik but were relocated because of security issues and warnings from our foreign minestry in Denmark.

The location in El Gouna is great! Close to the beautiful Marina (5 min. by shuttlebus, 15 min. walk and 10 min. to downtown by shuttlebus.) (buy tickets for a week for 20 EGP per person, kids are free)
The rooms (we had 1203) are in great shape, good size, comfortable beds, getting cleaned very nicely every day and always situated close to the beach and pool area.
The way the hotel area has been designed is very nice. If it is windy you can go to the other side of the hotel to the relaxation beach where you do not feel the wind at all.
The service from arriving, during our stay until the end was exemplary! The staff is very professional and doing their best to please you. I mean everyone from the manager, the cleaning staff, the restaurant staff - especially Islam and Mohammed, great sendse of humor and service
:-) Rhanda is also doing a great job and making sure everyone feels at home. Mohammed in La Piscina/ wawes restaurant is also brilliant!

The only dissapointment was the ocean and snorkeling, which i must stress out obviously has nothing to do with Sheraton. The tempeature of the red sea was around 18-19 celsius and not clear at all close to the beach.
My friend was in Marriot, Sharm El Sheik 1 week before and it was 24 celsius, corals right in front of the beach and very clear water with all the marine life you would like to spot. This was his higlight of Sharm El Sheik.
In Sheraton you can snorkle via boat trips. There is a coral reef close to Sheraton so not really a big deal but not as easy acceas as in Sharm (as I am told).

We have stayed in lot of places and this a very unique place and atmosphere! In general I have never been dissapointed with the SPG group! Excelent value

This being our 4th trip to the Sheraton El Gouna, we knew just what to expect.
A Good 4 Star Hotel. The rooms are clean and tidy, pool area is brilliant, and the
breakfast buffet is more than adequate..( lacking a bit on the fresh fruit side, but
still acceptable ) Given the chance and a good price we will probably return.

I stayed here for a 10 night vacation in early March 2014 with my wife. We were a little anxious when we got off the plane, because the ride from Hurghada Airport to El Gouna wasn't exactly what we were expecting. The places we drove through looked pretty run down, messy, lots of broken streets and half finished buildings. But when we arrived in El Gouna and were immediately charmed by the location. It really is its own little city. Really clean, really safe, extremely beautiful and just friendly faces all around.

It was my birthday when we arrived, but because of the time difference and a later flight, we didn't arrive until 10pm. My wife let the hotel know beforehand that it was my birthday and they set up our own private table. Eventhough we were extremely late, all personel was still there and doing their best to please us. They even made me a special strawberry birthdaycake :) Words can not express how grateful we were for this warm welcome.

The hotel is pretty big, but we were driven to our room on a golf cart so we didn't have lug our suitcases around. The room we got was in the 8000 range, which is a circle of rooms overlooking a lagoon. Every room has it's own terrace with sunchairs. The beds were good, but it was a shame they only had 2 separate beds. They were pushed together, but it's not the same as having one kingsize bed. There's a big TV in the room with a pretty good selection of TV channels. They have several channels which are just in English with Arab subtitles, so at least you have some movies or series to watch before going to bed. The bathroom was clean, spacious and functional. Water pretty in the shower was strong enough and we've never had a problem with warm water running out.

Breakfast was very good. There is a lot of choice and I could have eaten something different almost every day if I wanted to. I usually stuck with the French toast and cinnamon sugar though because it was awesome. There was always one chef who would make you your eggs the way you wanted them and another chef who made fresh pancakes and waffles. He even made little figures for people with small children. Service was also really good, the guys working there made sure you always had enough of coffee and tea when you wanted to. The one thing I missed was "actual" bacon. They have beef bacon, but no pork. I guess this is because it's an Islamic country.

Most times we ate at the ala carte restaurant near the pool and skipped the buffet. I want to personally thank Mohamed who usually worked the pool restaurant. After our first meal he remembered our table, room number and drinks when we walked in. The food there was excellent, especially the kofta kebab and beef tajine. This restaurant was also our choir at noon. They have a different selection of dishes, but everything was very good. Except the pizza I had, which was a little undercooked.

The pool area is nice. Plenty of sunchairs with umbrellas available, food and drink service available without having the get up. There's a rule that women can't get in the pool with long clothes, but we saw plenty of Egyptian women do this anyway. It doesn't personally bother me, but if you have a problem with that kind of thing you are hereby warned. Maybe they're a little stricter during the summer months when more people are in the hotel.

If you're into diving (and you should when you're at the Red Sea) you should check out TGI Diving, which is located on the hotel grounds near the closed Orient 1001 restaurant.

If you want to go snorkeling it's best to go to Sultan Beach (which is right next to the beach of the Sheraton, just cross the bridge over the lagoon) and go to the end of the jetty (about a 400m walk). Depending on how rough the sea is, you should be able to see some cool fish when you jump off at the end and take a swim to the left. It gets pretty shallow fast, so watch out you don't cut yourself on the rocks or coral.

I would recommend everybody to go here when traveling to Egypt. The exceptional staff really make this place an awesome spot to vacation.

Keep up the good work everyone, we wil be back as soon as possible :)
