I travelled with my Wife and 2 daughters to the Three Corners Rihana resort for a week mid august. Having read some of the reviews we were a bit anxious about what to expect, but can honestly say that we would love to go back!

This was where most of the nerves lied, with both daughters being fussy eaters it's never easy to please them - but found more than enough variety to choose from
Breakfast, Hot &cold, ranging from freshly made omelettes to fruit or greek yoghurt.
Lunch, Lunch seemed to be our favourite meal of the day, with chips always as an option, we were never stuck. Again, lots of choice and never went cold.
Dinner, each night is a different theme night, ranging from Italian to buffet of the Pharaohs. Hot and cold are both excellent aswell as desert!

Tea and cakes is at 4 everyday in the sunny resturant, not amazing but fills that little gap that's missing from lunch.
Ice cream is available from the pool bar at the fitness pool from 11-5.

Staff we're excellent, always someone around at each bar, pool, in the resturaunt, anywhere you go really!
The animation team made our holiday really, plenty of activites going on and the evening shows are good. Do be prepared for the sunny holiday dance each morning although it's just a bit of fun really!

The room was nice, we had a balcony and lagoon view, the girls did aswell. We found the beds comfy but others seemed to disagree- you'll get this anywhere though. Bathroom was of a decent size with a shower, although a shock to the girls that in Egypt there is no power showers, so you do have to spend an extra 5 minutes washing your hair, no real problem to us though.
Each day the cleaners come in and give you fresh towels make the beds and give you 2 fresh bottles of water - they are free of charge to all inclusive (not sure about other boards)

The resort is all of a 2 minute walk into El Gounas 'downtown', where you can find a bank, aquarium, super market and others.
We thought we were a short walk away from the lagoon, turns out it's part of the resort, just down by the Chez Pascal restaurant! That brung in a nice breeze and was beautiful, the animation team run a free boat trip out to the sea, worth booking!

All in all an excellent holiday and would without a doubt like to return!

We were transferred to this hotel after having stayed in the awful Pyramisa Blue Lagoon in Hurghada and we were really happy.
Straight away the hotel has a lovely feel about it - it has three nice pools with plenty of sunloungers and each pool is surrounded by the apartments which makes it very quiet and relaxing which is nice - i feel some of the large open space hotels get very noisy and you can feel quite cramped in them which is not the case here at all.

The rooms are slightly smaller in The Rihana Inn and the air con in our room was very noisy but i think this was probably just in our room - i never heard anyone else complain about this and it didnt cause us any real problems. We didnt bother complaining as we were so happy just to be in a nice hotel compared to the other one we stayed in!

The food in the main restaurants is delicious and always hot and drinks are cold and always kept in the fridge. There is plenty of choice and they cater to most nationalities. We tried the Chez Pascal retsaurant one night which is extra charge althought you do receive a discount if you stay all inclusive but i wouldnt bother with it as the food was nothing special and the service was quite bad. I think you would be better just eating in the all inclusive restaurant.

The TTC hotels offer a dine around scheme which is good as it means you can sample almost every type of food during your stay so you wont get bored and they have a wide variety of evening entertainment - everything from egyptian history and dancing to the river dance! I thouroughly recommend you to go on the Oasis night which costs 15euro pp - this includes a barbecue, drinks, traditional dancing, camel rides and belly dancers etc. It was a brilliant night. They also have a marina street party which looked fantastic but we just missed it unfortunately :-(

The TTC Rihana has a large lagoon which is lovely and offers sunloungers, beach bar, watersports, diving etc and you can also use the TTC Ocean View beach which looked nice. The Abu Tiga Marina is stunning, there are some gorgeous restaurants and really classy bars etc.

Excursion wise we couldnt go use the travel rep trips as we transferred from elsewhere and didnt have our own rep so we chose to use a company called Alex Safari in the town to take us to Luxor by car. This cost about £100 pp and I dont recommend you do this with them. Although it is better than bus as they only take the one family and it therefore takes less time etc we feared for our lives - our driver was crazy and kept having road rage outbursts - he got pulled over for speeding on the way there and fined, then on the way back had an outburst with another van and started driving right up the vans back to the point my partner and I were terrified we were going to crash! We did have our own tour guide for the temples etc who was very intelligent and friendly and he made up for the crazy driver but if you are planning to do a trip to Luxor or Cairo definetly go with your tour operator just to be safe!

Overall we thouroughly enjoyed our holiday - El Gouna is fabulous and after an initial bad week in the Pyramisa Blue Lagoon the Three Corners made up for it and I would recommend anyone go here as its really realy fabulous! :-)

The marina is beautiful

This was my first time to Egypt me and my cousin are 27 and went with the parents, I was a bit aprehensive as have been told the the egyptians like to hassle you but it was totally fine. I wasnt really expecting too much with the hotel but I was pleasantly suprised when I got there, the rooms arent spectacular to be honest but but considering the amount of time you spend in them it doesn't matter, and they were thoroughly cleaned on a daily basis. There is something for everyone, the staff are the friendliest I have seen on a holiday and made it soo much more fun, we have kept in contact with a lot of them since we have been back, they will do anything to make sure you are happy. The evening shows are hilarious and if you have children they like to get them involved as well, Chico and Illyus are good fun along with Hero as well. Peanuts Bar has live music and is great for a late drink and Ahmed there is lovely, and very quick service and if you want to go out after that you have the Marina and Down Town where drinks are very reasonably priced, the sunset bar is good for a chilled out atmosphere. The food was excellent, we ate in Dolce Vita a couple of times as we became good friends with Ramon the waiter which was lovely and a nice change, the bbq is yummy as well, they have different themed nights so you always have a couple of different dishes but otherwise they are all pretty much the same but I am a fussy eater and had no problem whatsoever. The only other downside is the main restaurant its a bit of a cattle market. The hotel puts on a Bedouin night which is brilliant, a marina party on Friday and put on trips along the Lagoon, which is beautiful I would definately recommend going for a swim there, the swimming pools are fab, although we mainly spent our time at the Dolphin pool. We went to the Ocean View hotel as well which has a lovely setting but we were glad we were staying at the Rihana. Mangroovy Beach is lovely and if you are young like me they have a beach party on every other night which is good fun, drinks are a bit more expensive but thats to be expected, and they have a pool party at the Duport (part of Ocean View) on Mondays and Fridays which is also good fun, and Moods bar at the end of the Marina does fab cocktails

So overall an excellent holiday and we were all gutted we had to come home and will definately be going back.

We were lucky enough to go to Mexico last year and thought that it couldn't get much better, but it did. Stayed here last week of July first week of August, we knew that it would be hot but hadn't really banked on the heat, not humid but very very hot. Food was much better than Mexico, hot, varied and lots of it, fresh bread and real butter as well, the weekly outside BBQ was excellent. The only gripe we had was the poolside sunbeds, although there are signs up saying that they shouldn't be reserved there were towels being put out anytime from midnight onwards at all three pools, it was a shame to see kids coming down in the morning and finding nowhere to go. Rooms were good, cleaned every day with fresh towels, all of the staff had a good understanding of English and were very helpful and friendly. A good tip would be to have one of the massages they do in the beauty center early in the stay, they aren't cheap but they claimed that the oils and treatments they used would tone up the skin and prevent burning and help get an even tan, my wife who usually burns and peels didn't, even in the 42 degree plus temp so it did work. A 65p bus ticket lasts from 7am to 4am and is valid on the boat 'buses' as well, a trip out to the Marina is an eye opener with some jaw droping million £ boats, how the other half live!! We were suprised to see that the preferred currency over there is the Euro although they did accept the Egyption £ and the $. All in all the holiday was well worth the money and we plan to go back, wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

The hotel and area were lovely. We had a nice room with good daily cleaning. The food was nicely laid out but very repetative. They had a German, Belgium, French Egyptian nights but no British.
10 days would have been enough for us. The granchildren enjoyed it until some German and French children arrived and started picking on the British children, spitting and pushing in. They don;t like to wait for their turn, Games in the Sunset lounge were all foreign. no English except cards. Khalede the barman was fantastic with the children.

Paintballing and paragliding were fantastic. Don't bother with the marina dinner and show. You get the same food at the hotel and can get a tuk tuk to the marina and see the show for free.

Thomason holidays really looked after us when we were delayed by one day. We were put up in a beautiful hotel south of Hurghada.

El Gouna was clean, there was no begging and you were no hassled in the streets.

travelled with my 2 daughters (Divorced you see) on a thomas cook package holiday for 7 days to this hotel.
everything went smooth at the airport and the fights were on time - the in flight movies really do shorten the flight but the old 757s thomas cook are running seem to have my parents old VHS player from the early 80s on board as the picture/sound quality was poor.
once at the resort the staff were very friendly and helpfull and on being shown to the room we sorted ourselves out.
here the bit that my title hints at:-
i wouldn't not recommend this place as it does not have anything really bad about it - but (and maybe i'm being too fussy) the room only had one room plus a bathroom - (i was travelling with my 2 daughters (aged 10 & 15) and they need some privacy when changing) i was expecting a seperate bedroom. and the furniture /decor was in my opinion only a little bit plusher than the self catering holiday we went on last year to Menorca (Cala n Forcat) so i was a tad dissappointed. the other decidedly average part of theis hotel is the food in the buffet resaurants - i told the thomas cook rep it reminded me of school dinners - at all edible and very contintal europe in its offerings (but as the place is owned by a Belgian and most of the guests are Dutch/Belgian/german etc its not surprising.
so while i say i wouldn't not recommend the place - i would not be in a rush to go back because of its ordinariness (is that a word?)
however none of that detracted from the holiday

we did 2 trips thro Blue Sky tours - a half day trip to the red sea mountains and a Bedouin camp and a 2 day trip to luxor on a coach - both of these trips i would recommend. the 2 day luxor trip has a busy itinery but you do get to see/do alot and is probably more relaxed than the 1 day trip they also offer. From El Gouna it is a 5 hour coach drive and i did not fancy doing that twice in one day (and I am sure my 10 yr old would not have wanted too either) - a definate plus point was our hotel for the eve in Luxor - we stayed at the maritim Jolly Ville on Crocodile Island and the food there was just fantastic (a buffet again)- leagues better than Rihanna offered.

they dont have clouds in Egypt so it gets very hot during the day and after a bit of t'internet research i decded to get some reimann P20 suntan lotion - i can't recommend this stuff enough - put it on first thing and forget about it for the rest of the day - even my youngest, who is very pale, did not burn having used this stuff. it slows the tanning process but that is no bad thing in temps of high 30s to high 40s.

we did not suffer from any skeeters either but i did get 2 bites but that was all between the 3 of us.

there was alot more we could have done during the week and left there feeling that 10 days would have been a good length of time there and it was a balance between relaxing and sightseeing. i think we had a good mix of the 2.
