“Just the post-Christmas holiday that we wanted.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 January 2013

We had a wonderful holiday and liked Three Corners Ocean View hotel very much.
It was very clean, indeed it sparkled.
The room was fine, it was immaculate after every visit from the cleaning staff.
The buffet meals were great. They were so good that there was nothing to gain by eating elsewhere.
The singers in the bar during the evenings gave a good show and the animation staff were enthusiastic.
The "beach" is not for swimmers, it is a courtesy bus ride away and the water is very shallow. Kite surfers 300 metres from the shore were barely knee deep. However there was an acceptable buffet lunch on hand at the beach.
Superb snorkel and scuba trips are available nearby and inexpensive, (next door with 'Blue Brothers Diving.')
The Guest Relation ladies, Cindy and Ann were very helpful to us, a particular thanks to them.
My wife and I thought it funny how some of the staff complained about the cold. One even showed us that he was wearing long underwear.
Back home we found out again what the cold is really like.
At Manchester airport after the flight to U.K. it took a long time to get the ice off my Land Rover and make it warm enough to travel home. The doors were frozen shut. The windscreen wipers were stuck to the glass with ice. The temperature outside was MINUS 5 degrees Celsius. Now that is quite COLD.
At home after our return journey I took a photo of the snow from one of our windows and emailed it to the hotel. It shows plenty of it on the hedges and garden. Cold indeed.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the marina to the north side are slightly cooler

We stayed here from the 26th December to the 2nd January, after doing a Nile cruise, it is a lovely hotel staff are really friendly in a lovely location overlooking the marina. Our room didn't have a balcony we asked at reception if there was one available but were told the hotel was fully booked and had no spare rooms, however the room we had was very clean and spacious a big bathroom and a decent shower. The food was really good and we were spoilt for choice, Amir the little waiter was lovely he would bring our drinks without us asking and kept us topped up. We all got bussed out on New Years eve to a massive marquis about ten minutes away, together with guests from the sister hotel Rhianna, the food was amazing beautifully displayed and the sculptures they had made out of fruit and veg were out of this world. The waiters and the chefs all seemed to have a good time as they all interacted with the guests. Would reccomend this hotel and especially the resort as you don't get any hassel off the shopkeepers.

Room Tip: Book a room with a balcony

This hotel is excelent . We had a great time, and everybody was very friendly! The waiters , the reception, roomcleaning,.. Everybody. We had the best time with LILO and BOB from the animation. We were never on there pool, and they treated us as family!!!!Really, they make you feel home. We had fun at the peanutbar and nothing was to much.

There is no doubt that the Three Corners Ocean View Hotel is one of the best hotels in La Gouna. In contrast with many other hotels - where you are limited to the hotel-area in a huge desert - Ocean View lies in a wide area with lagoons, bays and a downtown-area to shop around. With a nice balcony or terrace, you have a splendid view on lagoons and seaside. It is well worth the extra money! As the hotelrooms are gradually upgraded, it Is important to inquire if you have a new or an 'old' room. It can make a difference. It is a pleasure to walk around the hotelterraces, beach, pool, huge inner lobby and water-side. The restaurant offers a wide variety of fresh food, theme-buffets which are simply 'good' to Egyptian standards. In january 2013 the animation-team did its best to entertain the guests without too much dusturbance. Both guest-relations managers Ann & Cindy were an example how to help and contact hotelguests. The staff in general were very helpfull and kind. I can't remember staying at an hotel in Africa were the service could match any European four star-hotel, as did Ocean View. The Belgian ownership undoubtably explanes the good maintenance of the hotel-infrastructure, the eye for better gastronomy and the better organisation. I will go back, for sure!

Room Tip: A room with a lagune-view is absolutely worth the money!

My wife and I wanted some winter sun so opted for this hotel after reading the reviews on this site.
How glad we were. It is fantastic.
The food is superb with a marvelous choice for every meal. Even breakfast was a mini adventure. I usually opted for the omelette which was cooked fresh whilst you waited.
The lunch and dinner buffets were superb. So much choice and so little room!! It would be impossible to criticise the choice and the quality of the food at this hotel.
The sunloungers around the pool were comfortable and the hotel provided towels were good quality. These could be changed as often as you wanted. There were some problems with people reserving beds with towels, but there were enough to go around as it was quite quiet in january.
Lelo and Bob were entertaining and always had a smile and a bit of a chat whilst trying to get you to one of the workouts for 20 mins.
The rooms are clean and in fact cleaned to a high standard.
The "Towel Art" is amusing and we started to look forward to what the sculpture of the day was.
All the staff were friendly and any request for assistance was sorted politely and with a smile.
I cannot praise this hotel too highly.
I would certainly recommend it to anyone seeking a relaxing holiday.

This was my 5th visit to the hotel, and the 3rd New year there, unfortunately the weather wasnt as good as normal only 9 sunny days out of 14 but hey that is no-one's fault. Because I forgot to let the hotel know in advance of our impending arrival, got there on 28th Dec, and the hotel was jam packed full - got allocated a small room overlooking the bar in the pool at the back - no balcony - no sun - 2172 I think, after New Year they moved me to 2376 up a bit - 2 flights - had a balcony overlooking the lagoon but single beds - very small and uncomfortable, also I wasnt really that warm at night as you get one quilt on the bed and no extra blankets - to be fair, I could have asked for a blanket - but didnt...
Although the main chef has been there 7 years, I think the food was a load better this time, there seemed to be a lot of choice and everything was fresh - 100% - also when you get fed up with the buffet, there is the Belgian/Italian next door- which is always great!
Had a fabulous New Year's party in the tent near Rhianna, the drinks flowed and it was a great party experience...
There is a new General Manager, who is very very nice, hands on - talks to all the guests - and a positive - the staff all speak very highly of him!
All in all another great holiday in a friendly hotel with fabulous staff who welcome you back time and time again.. Well done Ocean View!!!
Loved Kris the DJ in Peanuts - a handsome one for all the girls to fall for!!!

Only one downside - Animation team all different again! dont seem to be that involved -they did put on one evening show when we were there but it was mediocre!!! - seemed to be a waste of space - Do you need them Ocean View?

Room Tip: You need to be on the south side facing the marina, not in DuPont - although some of the rooms have...

We visited the Three Corners in February 2009. The best thing about it was the Peanuts Bar but generally the hotel was well maintained, very clean, and we had no problems.

It was February, so the pool was a little on the cold side, and the sea was very cold (but other than heating the pool, there's not much the hotel can do about that!)

The buffet was a little too much like a school canteen for our liking, but we always managed to find something to eat.

El Gouna itself was a lovely little village, and lacked the demanding traders of Hurquada.
