Wonderful - the hotel far exceeded our expectations, and the staff all went out of their way to provide great service and keep us happy and relaxed at all times. How this hotel can be ranked so low compared to the other hotels in El Gouna is beyond me, they may be charging up to ten times Panorama's price but there is no way they can be that much better.
Like most hotels in Egypt now, Panorama is holding its breath, waiting for things to settle down and the tourists to return; needing a little TLC and a lick of paint here and there - but this did not spoil anything. Luckily we had booked one of the bungalows set over the lagoon, and our lazy time on our private terrace was interrupted only by the boatloads of envious holidaymakers from other hotels excitedly filming our picturesque site as they cruised the lagoons.
Buffet-style meals, all freshly prepared and beautifully presented, with daily themes and oodles of variety, were served in the (rather 1940s era!) restaurant or outdoors overlooking the pool, with friendly and ever-attentive, but not over-intrusive, service from the ever-smiling staff, most notably Mahmoud, who had the invaluable knack of always bringing a replenished drink just before you realised you had finished the last one!
Not many English guests (probably a good thing!), but everyone seemed to speak good English. The Pools were great, with some impromptu water polo but mainly room for everyone to laze as required, fortified by Bahaa at the bar; or if we were feeling more energetic, there is a regular shuttle boat to the nearby private beach, with bar / snacks as well as loungers and shades, a great spot for more lazing or snorkelling or kite-surfing.
El Gouna is a self-contained, small town, constructed on islands and lagoons and canals, all very picturesque, miles away in feel from the half-built sites of Hurghada. The beaches and bays are great for water sports, diving is almost de rigueur, the weather is a strong inducement to take it easy - and I can't think of a better place than Panorama Resort to take it REALLY easy. Amazing value for money, a nice place, nice people, great weather - I'll be back soon!

Room Tip: The water-front bungalows are verys special.

I stayed there with my 15years old daughter and we had just a wonderful time.We have been travelled a lot around the world and stayed almost only 5 star hotels and thats why at first we didnt expect nothing much from 4 star hotel and in Egypt..But this hotel is just great! Cause at first El Gouna itself is such a nice and beautiful place in Egypt-nothing like Sharm el Sheik or Hurgada.
We stayed at bungalow wich is absolutley the best choice in this hotel-You just have to be there, cause see the sunrise at 5 30 from your own terrace, its just amazing..
And the best part is service! All men are so friendly and all speak in very good english!
Specially Mahmoud in restaurant- we just fell in love to him.:)
So, we ll go back.

picked this hotel on its price and location to the Emperor divers operation. Staying as a group of 5 divers we spent little time here during the day.We were up and out by 7.50 each day, but the breakfasts were a superb set up for the day. Fresh omelettes, eggs, ham, breads, cereals etc. The evening meals were again superb, always chicken and beef, sometimes fish, always rice potatoes, salads a local Egyptian dish and a huge selection of sweet pastries and cakes for afters.
The rooms were basic and could do with a huge refurb, BUT the beds and linen were clean and comfortable.
The real gems here are the staff, some of the most friendly, courteous, and humorous I've had the pleasure to met. We never went thirsty!!!

Thank you all

We just loved all of it! Our bungalow had direct access to the lagoon, it was nicely furnished and comfortable. The food was grand and the service can absolutely not be topped! All staff were high spirited and had a good mind for their customer. Free shuttle to the Hotel beach and all drinks on the house (all in) just cannot go wrong...
